The Brew: A Tip of the Cup to Our Vets … Including Ol’ Dad

Thanks, Dad. And thanks to all those you served with.

Happy Friday!

This Brew is for all the Vets throughout the generations who have honorably served this nation in time of war. Our Tom Sileo can say it better than I possibly can. See his “Service & Sacrifice: Every Day is Veteran’s Day.”

Also coming up tomorrow from Nancy Flory, Wounded Tiger: The True Story of the Man Who Led the Attack on Pearl Harbor … and What He Learned From an American Prisoner and a Girl He Never Met.”

This Veteran’s Day comes with our troops in the Middle East under attack … over 40 thus far since Oct. 7 … from outfits tied to Iran. And with the very real prospect of further military engagement. May God guide our current crop of heroes.

While we’re over in the Middle East …

Was CNN, AP and Others Imbedded With Hamas Terrorists?

Just when you think you have a fix on how corrupt and corroded the news media is, you get stories like this. HonestReporting broke the news that freelancers working for CNN, AP and assorted other top news agencies were actually embedded with the Hamas terrorists as they launched their gruesome, catastrophic assault on innocent Israelis. In other words, those reporters must have known about the attacks in advance. How could you know and not give warning? As HonestReporting writes:

What were they doing there so early on what would ordinarily have been a quiet Saturday morning? Was it coordinated with Hamas? Did the respectable wire services, which published their photos, approve of their presence inside enemy territory, together with the terrorist infiltrators? Did the photojournalists who freelance for other media, like CNN and The New York Times, notify these outlets? Judging from the pictures of lynching, kidnapping and storming of an Israeli kibbutz, it seems like the border has been breached not only physically, but also journalistically.

The main focus is on a journalist named Hassan Eslaiah. He worked for CNN and AP on Oct 7. An earlier selfie shows Eslaiah being kissed by a Hamas terror leader.

In fact, video reportedly shows him on the way to Israel, grenade in hand.

CNN has cut Eslaiah loose. Associated Press insists it knew nothing of the attack in advance. The New York Times denied its knew anything in advance, but avoided answering whether its freelancer Yousef Masoud did. But the questions remains: What did the outlets and their people know and when did they know it … and why didn’t they do anything to warn the innocent civilians targeted?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is demanding answers.

Update: Violence Breaks Out at Gal Gadot Screening of Oct. 7 Footage

Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot’s screening of IDF footage from Oct. 7 at the Museum of Tolerance drew an angry mob of pro-Palestinians along with Pro-Israel demonstrators. A massive brawl broke out, captured by ABC 7 News.

Oddly, the pro-Palestinians denounced the 47-minute collection of Hamas atrocities as being a β€œpro-genocidal” film. Even Orwell would be baffled by that one.

The confrontation came mere days after an elderly Jewish man was killed near Los Angeles by a pro-Palestinian protester.

A Full-Time Swift Reporter?

Another sign the media world is out of its mind. USA Today has hired someone to cover Taylor Swift full time. A 35-year-old journalist named Bryan West. What do you call a 35-year-old man following around Taylor Swift? Creepy. In a similar vein, you’d think Fox News would have better things to do, but it’s breathlessly reporting that Taylor’s new flame, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, is traveling to Argentina to see Taylor on her Eras tour. Stop the presses! Boyfriend Visits New Girlfriend at Work!

Before you ask, NFL fans, Kansas City has a bye week.

One more bit of major, major news. Huge! The Hollywood actors strike is over. The SAG-AFTRA guild announced Wednesday night it has accepted the most recent offer from Hollywood’s major producers. This means Hollywood is fully back in business.

Be honest. Did you miss it?

Hollywood Reporter touches on some of the terms, but one line stands out: The deal includes β€œcritical contract provisions protecting diverse communities.” You know what that means: Dylan Mulvaney mandated to star in the next remake of Little Women. You know what it doesn’t mean: any protections for conservative actors.

Huh? Vatican Says Transgender People Can Now Be Baptized Catholic and Serve as Godparents?

Who needs that old β€œMale and female He made them”? It’s so behind the times, man.

On Wednesday, the Vatican announced that it’s permissible, under certain circumstances, for “trans” Catholics to be baptized and serve as godparents.
