Worst Super Bowl Commercial Ever?

This bizarre ad about heroin ran during the big game on Sunday in the local St. Louis market.

Who doesn’t love a good Super Bowl commercial, right?

Yesterday’s memorable game between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks brought with it more than the exciting, last-second, on-the-field drama. Social media exploded throughout the afternoon and evening as one new commercial after another debuted in front of more than 100 million people.

Among the wildly expensive advertisements there were some duds, busts, winners and legends.

My nomination for the Super Bowl commercial that will in infamy? This little gem, which aired only in the local St. Louis market last night.

The National Council on Alcohol &Β Drug Abuse is the party responsible for this commercial.

While I fully respect and endorse the efforts of any group working to aid those struggling with substance abuse, I’m not sure that this particular ad struck the appropriate “emotional tone” for such a serious subject.

But perhaps that’s just me?

A song that sounds like something cut from the Juno soundtrack simply doesn’t feel right.
