Will Ohio Vote to Rebuild From the Ruins?
On Tuesday pro-family voters hope to save the Ohio state constitution from hijacking by radicals, by passing "Issue 1."
“Ohio voters will have an opportunity to save their state from the ravages of the Sexual Revolution by changing the system for amending their state constitution,” said Ruth Institute president Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.
“Currently, the Ohio constitution can be amended by a simple majority (50.01%) of voters in a statewide election. This allows for all kinds of mischief by special interest groups fueled by out-of-state funding. Issue 1, which will be on the ballot August 8, would increase the threshold to 60% to pass an amendment.”
Looming over the horizon on the November ballot is the extreme anti-life constitutional amendment supported by Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.
“Pro-abortion advocates know that if their proposal passes in November, numerous pro-life laws, duly enacted by the state legislature and operating successfully for years, will be wiped out in one stroke,” Morse said.
According to one legal analysis:
The proposed amendment would outlaw virtually any restrictions on abortion and all other procedures, including sex-change surgeries, that touch on reproduction, for both adults and minors. It would cancel out not only parental-consent laws but also mere parental notification for minors’ abortions or sex-change surgeries; strike down health protections for people of all ages who undergo these procedures, including requirements that a qualified physician perform them; and erase any meaningful limits on late-term abortions.
“The Abortion Lobby is hoping to change the constitution, by a simple majority, to create an environment where all these laws, which were enacted under the Roe v. Wade regime, will be swept away,” Morse said. “Simple things like parental notification will never be resurrected except through amendments to the Ohio state constitution. And the Abortion Lobby is hoping no one will notice.”
“To amend the U.S. Constitution requires a two-thirds vote of each house of Congress, followed by ratification by three-quarters of the states. The Founding Fathers established this rigorous procedure to prevent the passage of frivolous amendments.”

“The U.S. Constitution has been amended only 27 times in 235 years. Meanwhile, Issue 1 is the 270th proposed amendment to the Ohio Constitution since their constitutional convention in 1912. Having a higher vote margin for constitutional amendments than for ordinary legislation is just common sense.”
“Since the repeal of Roe v. Wade, extremist groups have targeted states with constitutions that are easy to amend to enshrine abortion on demand throughout pregnancy and ‘transgender’ surgery for minors in state constitutions.”
“Passing Issue 1 on August 8 will help to ensure that the state’s constitution is amended only in a calm and deliberative manner, and not in an atmosphere of panic generated by lobbyists for the Sexual Revolution,” Morse concluded.

A Detransitioner Tells Her Story. “I would have just grown out of it.”
Chloe Cole, 19, has testified around the country, most recently at a congressional hearing, on why transitioning for minors should not be legal. She bases this on her own experience, starting at age 12. In this special episode of the Dr. J Show, Chloe shares her story, including why she is suing Kaiser Permanente and her former doctors.
“A good therapist would have encouraged me to accept that these feelings [of gender dysphoria] were normal, very likely transient … and didn’t require medicalization … . I wasn’t all that distressed by my gender dysphoria. I was getting through it. I was a pretty pleasant kid, but they totally perverted all of this.”
“I was very much rushed … . It was very, very quick … . There wasn’t a whole lot of counseling during this time. They actually knew that my psychological state was beginning to deteriorate.”
When her parents brought this up, Chloe’s doctors told them, “Your child is going to die if you don’t do this.”
Doctors also told her parents that it was very unlikely that she would regret the trans procedures, but would regret not having them. “They were almost threatening my parents with the suicide of their own daughter. They said it was life or death, that they would likely either have a dead daughter or a living transgender son. And my parents were hooked after that.”
Years later, Chloe still deals with the fallout of what was done to her body.
Most of the complications that I’m experiencing today were not listed on the forms for any of these treatments.
I want to get justice because what happened to me was incredibly cruel and should not ever happen to a kid. It was medical malpractice. It was fraud. They lied to me, my mom and dad. I don’t want to live in a world where doctors did that to me and probably dozens of kids and get away with it.

Congressional Hearing Highlights Dangers of “Transgenderism”
“On July 27, two brave young women testified before the House Judiciary Committee on the dangers of so-called transgenderism. We must heed their urgent pleas,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., President of the Ruth Institute.
Witnesses at the hearing included Chloe Cole, a de-transitioner who described the horrors of the “gender affirming care” inflicted on her, and Paula Scanlan, a member the University of Pennsylvania women’s swim team, who spoke about being forced to compete with biological male William (“Lia”) Thomas and share a dressing room with him.
Morse commented: “A survivor of sexual abuse, Scanlan told of how she and her teammates were forced to change as many as 18 times a week in the presence of a 6’4” man with full male genitalia.”
When Scanlan and members of her team complained about this gross invasion of their privacy, the university offered counseling to overcome their modesty and told them Thomas on their team and watching them undress was “non-negotiable.”
At the same hearing, held on her 19th birthday, Cole described what the medical establishment put her through. When, at age 12, Cole decided she wanted to be a boy, she was put on hormone blockers. Later, her breasts were removed.
Cole declared: “My childhood was ruined, along with thousands of de-transitioners that I know through our networks. We need to stop telling 12-year-olds that they were born wrong, that they are right to reject their own bodies.”
Cole is Dr. Morse’s latest guest on the Dr. J Show. Watch her interview on Locals or YouTube.
“Sexual radicals want to pretend the de-transitioning movement doesn’t exist,” Morse said. “But it’s very real and growing. We hope Congress will continue to fight academia and the medical establishment for their attacks on fairness, modesty and science.”
