Will Mike Lindell’s Biopic Be Mister Smith Goes to Guantanamo, or It’s a Dull, Futile Strife?
Halloween is approaching, so you might be thinking of family-friendly but authentically scary movies you can gather around and enjoy. Last night I watched an iconic film which sent a chill through my bones. The acting was superb, the writing crisp and literate, the direction second to none. There’s a reason it’s considered a great American classic. But it might prove too unsettling for everyone in your household, so I recommend discretion.
I’m speaking of the 1939 Frank Capra film, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. If you watch this with your little ones, you might well traumatize them. Adults who view this movie will come away with pallid, blood-drained faces, and anxiety clenching their guts. The question which might go unspoken in your household, unless some precocious child dares to ask it, will be this: “Daddy, how did the people who made this movie know about the 2020 election? Are they time-travelers? Or … aliens?”
How Did Writers in 1939 Predict 2020 and Beyond?
Don’t ask me what to tell your kids. I’m not a dad, and my beagle twins watched the movie blissfully untroubled by its creepy, prophetic nature. Finnegan didn’t flop his ears and inquire, “How did the screenwriter Sidney Buchman predict the rise of Rupert Murdoch, and the way Fox News would flip on a dime to support the election steal? How did he know the lengths the powerful in Washington would go to keep information they didn’t like out of the hands of the public?”
Rayne just licked her paws, and never asked about the parallels with the Russia collusion hoax, or Trump’s sham impeachment. Neither of them mentioned “January 6” as they watched the persecution of Senator Jefferson Smith, or the attacks on his youthful supporters by corrupt, lawless police and political machine thugs.
Mike Lindell and Jimmy Stewart
And I was the only one in the room who was thinking of Mike Lindell. You see, I’ve been reading recently about the latest phase in the war against that patriot — who overcame drug addiction, found Jesus Christ, and built a magnificent business out of nothing, then risked it all out of a goofy, naïve belief that America was a free country, which he ought to try and save. Just like a Jimmy Stewart character in a Frank Capra movie. (Or like Gary Cooper’s “John Doe” in Capra’s greatest film, Meet John Doe, which I’ve written about here before.)
You see, Mike Lindell agrees with a majority of Americans that there was something fishy about the vote in 2020. Like the peaceful January 6 protestors who now face long prison terms — but unlike most of us — Lindell was willing to risk everything he had for the sake of his country. And now that country’s enemies have come around to collect. The Epoch Times (the last paper which I still trust) reports:
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell said Monday that his company has been “crippled” by American Express after it allegedly cut MyPillow’s credit line by about 90 percent.
Mr. Lindell, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, has long said that extensive campaign is being waged by retailers and financial institutions to cancel him and his business ventures following his claims after the 2020 election.
“We really need everybody’s help right now. We have things going on I’m going to let you all know this week,” he told Steve Bannon on his “War Room” Rumble show. “American Express, I wasn’t going to say this, we’ve been with them 15 years and we do all of our online marketing, all our shipping with them, out of the blue they took our credit line from a million dollars down to $100,000, just cripples MyPillow.”
When I read about that, I thought two things. First, “I’m going to buy a closet full of sheets, towels, and pillows I don’t even need, to support Mike Lindell.” And I hope you go do the same, using the discount code “Eric,” which helps The Stream’s good friend, the courageous public Christian Eric Metaxas.
If They Can Destroy Mike Lindell, Each of Us Is Next
My second thought was grimmer: If Mike Lindell goes down, if his business gets destroyed by corporate sabotage employed in defense of the Deep State and the Oligarchy, it will be like a Frank Capra movie, except where the villains prevail in the end.
Imagine George Bailey actually jumping off the bridge and drowning in It’s a Wonderful Life, his body floating away and getting dumped in an unmarked grave somewhere in the newly christened Pottersville.
Or John Doe plunging off the Empire State Building in Meet John Doe, and the fascist movement he tried to thwart taking power in America.
Or Senator Jefferson Smith getting dragged out of the Senate chamber in handcuffs in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, leaving our government still in the paws of the ruthless, the greedy, the unfathomably corrupt. You know, men like those running the Democratic Party, and the CIA wing of the Republican Party.

If we let the corporate wing of the Deep State destroy patriotic Americans like Mike Lindell, then we are next. And in the vast, Woke, suffocating autocracy that follows, we will deserve everything we get.
Let’s not let that happen. Let’s save Jimmy Stewart from ending up in GITMO. Let American Express know what you think of its corporate thuggery. Go out and buy some MyPillows, so you can still sleep at night.
