“Most observers are missing the demographic dimension of the war in the Ukraine,” said Ruth Institute Communications Director Don Feder. “Russia needs people, and in Ukraine there are 41 million people who are ethnically identical to its own.”

“By absorbing Ukraine, it will increase its population almost 30% overnight,” Feder observed.

“Like every other industrialized nation, Russia faces a demographic crisis. Although higher than our own, Russia has below replacement fertility and a much smaller population base. Its population is 146 million, less than half of America’s 332 million,” Feder explained. “That’s 146 million people to hold the largest land mass of any nation.”

“Moscow’s answer could be to absorb neighboring populations. International instability is one of the hidden dangers of falling fertility.”

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., added: “Demographic Winter could be the plague of the century. Replacement level fertility is 2.1. After decades of decline, the U.S. fertility rate is now 1.78. Russia’s is 1.82. In 1960, worldwide, the average woman had 5 children. Today worldwide fertility is 2.4 and falling. As early as 2030, the world could be at below replacement fertility. That means we will soon begin running out of people – people to man the factories and farms, people to serve as first responders, and people to fill the ranks of the armed forces.”

“The Ruth Institute is one of the few organizations to sound the alarm on declining fertility,” Morse said. “Don gave an excellent presentation on this issue at last year’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution. And we launched our Demographic Winter Resource Center with a wealth of information on what could be the greatest challenge humanity will face this century.”

The final guest for The Dr J Show’s celebration of Black History Month is Tara Wicker, the State Director of Louisiana Black Advocates for Life.
 

 

Listen as Tara pulls no punches, stating clearly that abortion is a problem in the African American community because it’s never talked about. Pastors, the most trusted people for dealing with serious issues, are quiet on the matter. Therefore, people get their information from sources like Planned Parenthood, which, of course, steers them toward abortion.

When Tara visits college campuses, armed with statistics gathered by Louisiana Black Advocates for Life, black students get the facts on why their population is declining. And what fuels abortion? The decline of morality. This is an issue on which Tara strives to educate the many college students she meets.

That issue, and many others, Tara has something to say about it all. Watch to hear her tell it like it is!

No One is Born “Gay.” Cardinal Hollerich Isn’t Following the Science

Luxembourg Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, president of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union, announced, “The sociological-scientific foundation of [Catholic] teaching [on homosexuality] is no longer correct.”

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., countered: “With all due respect to his office, Cardinal Hollerich has not kept up with the science. He is repeating the claims made by LGBTQ activists.”

“The LGBTQ ideology has implicit scientific claims embedded within it. The major claims are that people are ‘born gay,’ that no one can change his or her patterns of sexual attraction, and that it is dangerous to even try. People could be forgiven for accepting these claims uncritically back in 1968. Today, science has discovered so much contradictory evidence that we can no longer do so.”

Fr. Paul Sullins, Ruth Institute Senior Research Associate, summarized an article published in the journal Science. “Rebutting decades of search by LGBTQ scientists for a ‘gay gene,’ the study’s first author flatly proclaims, ‘It will be basically impossible to predict one’s sexual activity or orientation just from genetics.’”

Sullins explained: “The study found that a person’s developmental environment – the influence of diet, family, friends, neighborhood, religion and a host of other life conditions – was twice as influential as genetics on the probability of adopting same-sex behavior or orientation.”

Regarding the claim that people cannot change their patterns of attraction, Morse stated, “Many people have been helped to shed an unwanted sexual attraction both through spiritual conversions and through therapeutic Sexual Orientation Change Efforts. For instance, Elizabeth Woning came out as a lesbian in her twenties. She was later transformed and has been married to a man for nearly two decades. Woning shared her testimony at the Ruth Institute’s 2019 Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution.”

Finally, recent research has debunked the claim that Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE) are harmful. A study of sexual minorities examined data collected by the pro-gay Williams Institute at UCLA. Published in Frontiers in Psychology, the paper found no difference between people who had undergone SOCE and those who had not, in their tendency to harm themselves or experience psychological distress.

Morse stated, “When the Catholic Church is true to herself, she has the potential to lead the culture toward truth and authentic peace. But when the Church follows the world, she inevitably lags behind and ends up looking foolish.”

Morse concluded, “Cardinal Hollerich should support those who, through legitimate therapeutic techniques and the grace of God, have changed their patterns of attraction and behavior. He should cease using outdated unscientific claims to legitimize those in flagrant violation of Church teaching.”

“We were put here to change the times, not to change with times,” Morse urged.
