Jordan Peterson is a tenured research and clinical psychologist teaching at the University of Toronto. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at McGill University and previously taught at Harvard University. Yet Prof. Peterson is being threatened with the loss of his job (and potentially more) simply because he refuses to call a biological male “she” or “they” or “zie” or “zer” if that is what they request. People of America, take heed!
Prof. Peterson was a guest on my radio show today and he told me that he has studied left-wing authoritarianism for several decades now, looking at the destruction that Communism brought on millions of people, and he sees his current situation, based on a new law in his province, as nothing less than left-wing authoritarianism. And so, he will not comply, no matter what it costs him.
And he says this as a clinical psychologist who also has decades of experience dealing with people who believe they are men trapped in women’s bodies or that they are some famous person from the past or that they are animals or elves or aliens trapped in human bodies.
And as much as he has compassion for these people, it would violate his integrity and his ethics to call a biological male “Sally” or to call his next door neighbor “Genghis Khan” or to call a student of his “Frogman” or “Sneezy the Dwarf” or “Miss Martian.”
Yet the University of Toronto has made clear that, if push comes to shove, they will not support his rights, they will not stand with him if he went to court, and they will require him to obey the new Canadian law that requires him to address gender-confused students by the pronoun of their choice (which could theoretically change by the day).
It’s Coming to America. In Fact, It’s Already Here
This is outrageous, but it is exactly what is coming to America if we don’t wake up in a hurry. And be assured: With Hillary Clinton at the helm, this will happen sooner rather than later. Wake up!
Hillary Clinton has plainly said that “deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”
Already in New York City, you can face a $250,000 fine if you refuse to call Joe by the name of Jane when he identifies as such, even if you’ve known him as Joe for the last 20 years, even if he still dresses like Joe, and even if he has not been diagnosed with “gender dysphoria.” In fact, you are not even allowed to ask for any verification that he is seeing a doctor about these issues.
Already there is a rapidly growing list of Americans who have lost their jobs because of their moral and spiritual convictions and of students who have suffered discrimination (or even expulsion) from their universities because they could not comply with LGBT activism.
Already two states have called for pastors to turn in their sermons (or even Bibles!) to be examined because of their views on homosexuality, while two respected secular leaders were fired because they published books (outside of the workplace) that affirmed God’s view of marriage and family.
That’s why I wrote some years ago that “Big Brother Is Watching, and He Really Is Gay.”
That’s why I and others have warned for years about the “thought police” and “diversity police,” sounding the alarm as loudly and clearly as we know how, warning our fellow-Americans about the very real attack on our freedoms.
Now, we are at the point that California is demanding that Christian, pro-life pregnancy centers refer clients to local abortion clinics, that the Obama administration is threatening states with the loss of billions of dollars of federal funding if those states do not require 15-year-old girls to share locker rooms, shower rooms, and bathrooms with 15-year-old boys who identify as girls, and that Hillary Clinton has plainly said that “deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”
I could on and on — by the page, by the hour, by the day, by the month — not just warning you about what’s coming but telling you what is already here.
This latest chilling example from Canada, where a respected university professor faces the potential loss of his career, his reputation, and perhaps more, simply because he refuses to bow the knee to radical, left-wing authoritarianism reminds us of what could well be coming to a school near you.
A vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for these radical, oppressive, freedom-stealing agendas.
A vote for Donald Trump is a vote against these very same agendas.
So, if you haven’t voted yet today, factor this in. If you have already voted, you have been forewarned.
