Twitter Responds to Comey Firing
The Twitter hashtag #FireComey on Twitter is on fire. The vast majority of the tweets criticize President Trump’s firing FBI Director James Comey, plenty defend it. Trump, a prolific tweeter, joined the fray.
Trump reminds comedian and Hillary Clinton supporter Rosie O’Donnell that she called to fire Comey in December.
We finally agree on something Rosie. https://t.co/BSP5F3PgbZ

Last month you hated Comey but today you love Comey – #makeupyourmind I thought you were leaving America what happened? #CowardDemocrats

James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

The sarcasm just dripped from tweeters addressing criticism of the firing. Democrats had called for Comey’s firing last year for talking about Hillary Clinton’s emails just before the election. Now he’s their hero.

Yesterday, the GOP and Dems all wanted Comey fired.
Then Trump fires him.
Suddenly, it becomes The Worst Thing Possible for some.
Idiots.

What messaging war? No matter how he fired Comey the same attacks would happen. So he did it fast and shocked them. Now they are scrambling

So, it's not ok for Trump to talk to Comey but was no biggie when Loretta Lynch met Bill Clinton on Tarmac. Got it #CORRUPTION #FBIDirector

Others raised different points. Comey deserved to be fired, for example. And maybe the Democrats fear what might come out now that Comey’s gone.
We understand you love Comey. You are in the minority. He was the worst FBI Director of my lifetime. Trump should have fired him 1/21/17.

Same people saying Comey was fired because Trump is hiding something saw nothing sketchy about Hillary deleting 33k emails. Interesting.

Trump admitted he fired Comey to shut down investigation, thus impeding the investigation. Article of impeachment?

One thing the Twitter response shows: Everyone’s raring for a battle.
GOP backs Mr. Tump. Game on.
The firing of James Comey is heating up to be a scandal of Watergate dimensions. https://t.co/vUIkIKa114— gregaloha (@gregaloha) May 11, 2017
