The Things God Hates in American Politics

By Nolan Lewallen Published on January 17, 2022

The things God hates are listed in Proverbs 6:16-19. But how can God — Who “is love” — hate? I think the very reason He hates certain things is because He is love. For instance, He hates shedding of innocent blood because of its negative effect on His people whom He loves — and not just the victim but the murderer himself.

Solomon initially speaks of “six things the Lord hates,” then “seven are repulsive to Him.” So, which is it? Six or seven? Most likely, the answer is No. 2 and No. 6 are the same sin but committed in two different ways. I have addressed all seven and have used the Amplified Bible, which many feel does a good job of adding a flavor of the original Hebrew.

To be clear, I don’t feel that I’ve been given a “tenth spiritual gift” of pointing out everyone else’s sins. We’ve all committed at least some of these. Secondly, while this may seem a little lopsided to Democrats at this point in time, the most obvious examples just happened to go in their column. Some simply because they are the party in power right now. But I’ve also called out some Republicans, the MSM and Big Tech.

“These six things the Lord hates; Indeed, seven are repulsive to Him:”

1. A Proud Look

“A proud look [the attitude that makes one overestimate oneself and discount others].”

It’s no secret that many politicians, MSM commentators, and elites in Silicon Valley look down their noses at those of us with Christian/conservative values. Hillary Clinton famously referred to conservatives as “a basket of deplorables.” Peter Strzok messaged that he “could smell the Trump support” in Walmart. Anderson Cooper, who is worth more than $100 million and would never stoop to less than a five-star restaurant or hotel, talked down to Trump supporters saying, “They’re going to go back to the Olive Garden and to the Holiday Inn they’re staying at, or the Garden Marriott.” (Garden Marriott? … so out of touch.)

Perhaps the most egregious example of this attitude is Big Tech’s censuring of conservative voices on social media. In other words, “Sit down and shut up. We’ll decide who does all the talking.” This is the epitome of “discounting others” and is exactly what our scripture is talking about. And the act of censuring us ties in with the definition of deplorable, which is “a subject for censure, reproach, or disapproval.”

2. A Lying Tongue

“A lying tongue.”

This one is not unique to the Democrats. We’ve all heard the old joke, “How do you know when a D.C. politician is lying? When he’s moving his mouth.” But Biden himself has especially been “a lying, dog-faced, pony soldier,” to use his own term. During the final debate, he told us not a single person lost their plan under Obamacare, the stories of Hunter’s laptop were Russian disinformation, he had never opposed fracking, he had never opposed Trump’s travel ban. Those were all lies.

More recently, he has claimed when he came into office there were no vaccines. This was after taking the vaccine last December on live national television. And Jen Psaki lies most every day to cover for her boss. When Biden stumbled three times going up the stairs of Air Force 1, Psaki blamed the “tricky steps,” and her deputy blamed “the wind.” C’mon, man.

They’ve also lied about January 6, the so-called “voter suppression,” the border crisis, the financial crisis, inflation and more.

3. Hands That Shed Innocent Blood

“Hands that shed innocent blood.”

Look no further than the atrocity of abortion. What blood could be more innocent than a helpless baby in the womb? And to be fair, this is not entirely along party lines. According to a Gallup poll, 26% of Democrats are pro-life, and 22% of Republicans are pro-choice.

4. A Heart That Creates Wicked Plans

“A heart that creates wicked plans.”

MSM, Big Tech and politicians have created many “wicked plans.” Most notably, two attempted coups by phony impeachments, and all three of these entities played a part. The first one got underway 19 minutes after Trump’s inauguration with a WaPo article, “The Campaign to Impeach President Trump Has Begun.” They even changed the charges mid-stream from “quid pro quo” to “bribery” after holding focus groups to sample public support. In the second impeachment, 10 Republicans voted to impeach. I don’t care if it’s a duly elected Republican, Democrat or Independent, an attempted coup is a wicked plan.

I’m convinced the Jan. 6 committee is another “wicked plan” to keep Trump from running again in 2024. Pelosi, who cherry-picked all seven members of the committee, knows it wasn’t an insurrection. Some unarmed people trespassed (which I do not condone). And this is the same Pelosi, who when asked about the deadly 2020 riots that killed dozens, injured hundreds, and did $2 billion worth of damage, said “People will do what they do.” But with all the tenacity of Wile E. Coyote pursuing after the Roadrunner, she’s bound and determined to keep Trump out of the oval office once and for all. And to be fair, two of the most vocal members of the committee, Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney are Republicans.

On Dec. 21, Dem attorney, Marc Elias, suggested in a tweet that their wicked plan includes legally labeling some House members as “insurrectionists,” so they can not only kick them out of office but also keep them from ever running again.

5. Feet That Run Swiftly to Evil

“Feet that run swiftly to evil.”

During the George Floyd riots of 2020, BLM and Antifa “ran swiftly” to each new riot. Many of them were from out of state (estimated at 80% in Minneapolis) and were paid by Soros and other organizations.

6. A False Witness

“A false witness who breathes out lies [even half-truths].”

During the first impeachment trial, a number of the Democrats’ witnesses breathed out lies and half-truths, even under oath. Fiona Hill bore false witness about her contacts with Christopher Steele. Yovanovitch bore false witness about Burisma. Lt. Col. Vindman admitted to false witness about Trump’s call to Ukraine President Zelensky. Gordon Sondland inserted his mere opinion of Trump’s motives as fact.

And during the Kavanaugh hearings, the false witnesses came out of the woodwork. And we were right to listen to Christine Blasey Ford and others, but they were all discredited. Judy Munri-Leighton later admitted she had never met Kavanaugh.

7. One Who Spreads Discord

“One who spreads discord (rumors) among brothers.”

Remember Pelosi ripping up Trump’s State of the Union speech in the House chamber? That’s discord on steroids! And that “good ole’ middle-of-the-road Joe” talking point was a sham. The Biden administration, along with Schumer and Pelosi, have led the most divisive agenda in modern times. The push for CRT in our schools is — by design — to divide us by race. Biden has divided us even by the vaccinated vs. the unvaccinated with comments like, “Neanderthal thinking.”

Pray that at least some semblance of unity will be restored in our country. “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1).
