The Politics of Biden’s Classified Documents Report
Special counsel Robert Hur’s report on President Biden’s handling of classified documents has caused quite a political stir over the past week.
The President has assured the American people that there is no need to be concerned about his management of these documents because they were securely stored in his personal garage alongside his classic Corvette. Of course, we still don’t know why he had them to begin with since he was not President at the time, but Robert Hur was tasked with getting to the bottom of the matter.
Previous Investigations Prove Little Hope of Getting the Straight Truth
Now, I have to admit: nothing makes me less confident that justice and truth will prevail than assigning a special counsel or blue ribbon commission to review a matter like this.
Think James Comey and Hillary’s email scandal. Or the Warren Commission’s report on the assassination of JFK. Or the 9/11 Commission’s analysis of the events leading up to September 11th.
More times than not, I doubt not only their conclusions, but also their motives.
They’re all part of the same political establishment and often seem more interested in protecting the status quo than the genuine interests of the American people. This is why they almost all hate Trump and defend Biden.
It’s probably the eternal optimist in me, but I still hold out an ever-so-tiny sliver of hope that perhaps someone will truly do the right thing for once inside the federal government and hold these jokers accountable. But, predictably, they always find a way to disappoint.
And this case was no different.
The report concluded that Biden should not be criminally charged for the way he managed classified documents in his possession.
Republicans argue that if Trump can be charged for generally the same thing, Biden should certainly be charged as well.
Democrats are satisfied with the final verdict of the report, but are apoplectic by the ‘gratuitous’ commentary provided by Hur.
And who can blame them?
The “Elderly Man With a Poor Memory”
Hur, undoubtedly because his conclusion is inconsistent at best and completely indefensible at worst, felt the need to elaborate on the rationale for not recommending charges against Biden.
I guess you can only peddle nonsense with a straight face for so long without attempting to provide some sort of context as an attempt at an explanation.

Here is what he wrote:
“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
Let that sink in for a moment: Biden should not be charged because a jury wouldn’t have the heart to convict an old man who doesn’t really understand what is going on!
Hur drew this conclusion because Biden “did not remember when he was vice president” and also “did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died.”
This conjures up memories of James Comey’s statement about Hillary Clinton’s emails in the summer of 2016. Just as Hur seems unable to exonerate Biden with a straight face, Comey was unable to claim Hillary was without blame.
While Comey ultimately concluded that Hillary should not be charged because she did not demonstrate “gross negligence” in the way she handled her official government emails on her private email server, he still felt the need to point out that there was evidence she was “extremely careless” with her emails.
Of course, logically speaking, gross negligence is synonymous with extreme carelessness. But, my friends, as the old adage goes: the mind justifies what the heart desires.
Just as Comey wasn’t going to oppose Hillary in 2016, Hur was not going to oppose Biden in 2024.
And you know what?
I’m not suggesting he should.
Political Matters Must Be Settled at the Ballot Box
While the case can certainly be made that justice demands Biden face charges for his handling of classified material. After all, if charges are warranted against Trump, it seems they should be warranted against Biden.
But then again, charges are not justifiable against Trump.
While criminal charges should absolutely never be politically motivated, politics should never insulate someone from facing justice either.
Unfortunately, as we find ourselves embroiled in a cold civil war, the dividing lines around these important concepts are becoming harder and harder to identify.
Political matters be settled at the ballot box.
And that’s precisely why the mental fitness of all presidential candidates be honestly and transparently reviewed and analyzed.
Hur Exposed the Truth the Media Was So Eager to Hide
The truth is, the reason Hur’s commentary about Biden’s “poor memory” is so controversial is that the professional deceivers in the media and Democrat Party have lied about and hidden this reality from the American public.
Dementia is terrible — and I do not wish it on anyone.
But we all have an obligation to seek truth and make decisions rooted in reality.
And the truth is, Joe Biden’s memory and mental fitness are absolutely important to the 2024 presidential campaign. Pretending these things don’t matter or that he shows no signs of decline will hurt this country and the American people.
