POTUS Pounds CNN Reporter, Lori Lightfoot Baffles with Batty Email and Juneteenth Moves Closer to Being a Holiday

Happy Thursday!

Let’s get to our Morning Brew … but better make it decaf for Joe Biden and Lori Lightfoot.

Biden Gets Tough at Putin Summit … With CNN

Joe Biden really got tough at yesterday’s Putin-Biden summit … with a female CNN reporter.

CNN’s Kaitlin Collins asked an innocuous question about how he could be confident Putin will change his behavior. Biden pounced like Hunter on a crystal of crack.

I’m not confident he’ll change his behavior. What in the ****, what do you do all the time? When did I say I was confident? Let’s get this straight. I said what will change their behavior is if the rest of the world reacts to them and diminishes their standing in the world. I’m not confident of anything. I’m just stating a fact.

When Collins tried a follow up, Biden snapped, “If you don’t understand that, you are in the wrong business.”

You’ve got to watch this exchange:

As Fox News reports, even liberals like New York magazine’s Olivia Nuzzi were aghast. “If you’re the most powerful person in the world and you can’t field questions from the media without losing your temper, maybe you’re in the wrong business.”

Later, at the airport heading out of Geneva, Biden apologized to Collins for being a “such a wise guy.”

Meanwhile, as Biden plays tough with fawning reporters, Vladimir Putin was conducting the most massive Russian Navy exercises off the coast of Hawaii since the end of the Cold War.

Putin ain’t there for the luau.

CNN Shocked That Aides Don’t Want Biden Answering Questions

From our “Well, Duh! Where You Been” File. CNN seemed shocked Wednesday to discover Biden is protected by his people.  (This after CNN spent all of 2020 protecting Biden, doing so up until … yesterday.)

After revealing that Biden has a long reputation of having fits of temper like he displayed yesterday, Jeff Zeleny said, “What we have not seen is Joe Biden answer questions like that without his aides screaming at him to stop.  I have never seen a president, covering the last four of them, who is so protected by his aides in terms of often not wanting him to answer some questions.”

Slander on International Stage: Biden Claims a Police Officer Was Killed During January 6 Riot

This wasn’t a Biden gaffe. This one was a Biden slander. On Wednesday, Biden claimed a police officer was killed at the January 6th riot. That’s flat out not true. The only person killed was unarmed Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt.

Biden was asked: “When President Putin was questioned today about human rights he said the reason why he’s cracking down on opposition leaders is because he doesn’t want something like Jan. 6th to happen in Russia.”

Biden’s response:

That’s a ridiculous comparison. It’s one thing for literally criminals to break through cordon, go into the Capitol, kill a police officer and be held unaccountable, and it is for people … marching on the Capitol and saying, ‘You are not allowing me to speak freely. You are not allowing me to do A, B, C or D.’ And so they’re very different criteria.

For the record, no police officer was killed in the Capitol Riot. According to the official autopsy, Officer Brian Sicknick died the following day of a stroke. It was the Biden media who spent months claiming Officer Sicknick was killed, bashed in the head with a fire hydrant.

Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day.

For that matter, according to footage Sen. Ben Johnson has analyzed, 38% of the people in the Capitol building were let in by Capitol police. As Western Journal put it, “Usually, armed insurrections don’t start with police officers peacefully inviting the ‘insurrectionists’ inside.”

Also hundreds of people are in jail, some in solitary confinement, so “unaccountable” is another bogus statement.

Maybe that’s why aides scream at him not to answer questions.

By the way, it’s too bad Biden wasn’t asked about the in-depth Revolver investigative piece which discovered evidence in court documents that FBI agents and informers not only helped organize, but were some of the more violent perpetrators of the Capitol Riot. Tucker also covered it, and the same liberal media hacks who declared the Wuhan Lab Leak theory bonkers and Trump Russia Collusion the gospel, went apoplectic.

John Zmirak is promising us breakdown of the Revolver piece. Let’s wake him up to nag him to get it finished!

Senate Approves Bill to Make Juneteenth a Federal Holiday

Emancipation across the nation: On June 19, 1865 word first reached slaves in the South … specifically Galveston … that the Union had won the Civil War and that they were free. A great day. Juneteenth has been a holiday in Texas and other southern states for decades.

On Tuesday, by unanimous consent, the U.S. Senate approved a bill to make Juneteenth a federal holiday.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was a co-sponsor.

Juneteenth is an important day. It’s a somber reminder of the original sin of slavery that our nation inherited from colonial powers. Still, it is also a celebration of the fact that our country strives each and every day to make good on its promise to protect the inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all men and all women who are created equal.

The bill now moves over to the House where it expected to pass easily.

Chicago Mayor’s Batty Email to Staff

I would have posted this yesterday when someone sent me a tweet about it, but I thought it was too daft, even for Chicago’s loopy Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Well, it’s legit. In January, Lightfoot sent an email to now-former staffer Taylor Lewis. One look and you’ll see why it’s “former” staffer.

Yes, she’s demanding more “office time”… and repeats it 16 times. Every sentence repeated more than a dozen times. On one hand, it is so demented, so demeaning, so fit for Horrible Bosses III, you can’t help but chuckle.

Then it hits you: How many children were shot on Chicago streets in the time it took for Lightfoot to type out her tantrum?

Up on The Stream

Just up, “What?!?! Christian Group Denied IRS Tax Exempt Status Because Their Biblical Positions Are ‘Typically Affiliated’ With the GOP”.

That Christian group is Christians Engaged. As it happens, the organization’s president Bunni Pounds has a column posted just last night on The Stream. It’s called “Why Don’t I Ruin Our Graduation By Demanding More Dead Babies!” It features a pro-life fellow grad responding to the valedictorian who hijacked her commencement ceremony.

And in a shameless plug, we posted my latest late yesterday: “US Vote Leak Theory Update: AZ Audit Finishes Hand-Count, Georgia Finally Investigating Drop Box Chain-of-Custody Failures”.
