Welcome to June! As you are well aware from all the special events and store displays and controversies, June is National Candy Month, National Camping Month and National Country Cooking Month. (Whereas July is “National Ate Too Much Country Cooking at 4th of July Barbecue Month.”)

Seriously, all we’ve been hearing about is Pride Month. But hopefully that’s about to change. Today marks the first day of the inaugural “Fidelity Month.” A month “dedicated to the importance of fidelity to God, spouses and families, our country, and our communities.”

House Passes Debt Ceiling Limit Bill With Bipartisan Vote

The debt ceiling agreement negotiated by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the White House passed the House last night with a 314-117 vote. A solid majority of both parties voted for the bill. Republicans were a yay 149-71. Democrats, 165-46. The bill heads over to the Senate with Majority Leader Chuck Schumer promising it’ll get a vote “as soon as possible.”

Say It Ain’t So, Chick-fil-A!

You can’t spell “disaster” without D, E and I. Yet even as some companies are starting to rid their organizations of Diversity, Equity & Inclusivity managers, Chick-fil-A is jumping all in on DEI. And conservative supporters are having a cow.

The famed (and yummy) fast food chicken chain built its brand and success on its Christian values. For years it has been the target of protests and boycotts from the Left for its stand on traditional marriage. But is Chick-fil-A ready to throw it all away? The chain recently published a DEI statement, saying “Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s commitment to being Better at Together means embedding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in everything we do.” It also announced Tuesday the naming of a Vice President of DEI.

As the New York Post reports, the news caused outrage on Twitter, but an online survey showed a slim majority of Chick-fil-A customers aren’t ready to support a boycott. Roughly 52.4% against a boycott. 47% for a boycott.

DEI as practiced is not about diversity and inclusion. It’s about division and the destruction of values, the imposition of woke ideology. It is a poison. Who wants poison put into everything Chick-fil-A does?

Join us in praying that Chick-fil-A rejects sacrificing its biblical roots at the altar of political correctness.

Bud Light Gives $200,000 to the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce Even in Wake of Dylan Mulvaney Disaster

With Bud Light sales still plummeting, the beer maker still has the scratch to give $200,000 to an initiative of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce. The scratch is intended for a program to help LGBT business owners of color.

Surprisingly, the Bud Light sales decline is actually accelerating. Yahoo! Finance reports:

New data from Nielsen revealed Bud Light sales declined 24.3% year-over-year in the week ending May 20 while Budweiser sales were down 20.4% during the same period. Last week sales were down 21.6% and 17.6% respectively.

You’d think by now the people that were going to dump Bud would have dumped Bud. But it’s clear Bud Light’s troubles are only deepening.

GOP Field Expected to Grow Next Week With Chris Christie and Mike Pence

Good news for vendors at Iowa county fairs and New Hampshire coffee houses. Looks like you’ll have two more GOP candidates as regulars. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Vice President Mike Pence are expected to announce presidential bids next week.

Christie will be jumping in next Tuesday with an event in New Hampshire, according to Axios.

Pence is going to make his announcement June 7 in Des Moines, the Daily Mail confirmed. The FiveThirtyEight poll currently shows Pence with less than 6% support, compared to Trump’s 54% and DeSantis’ 21%.

So what do you think of Mike Pence entering the race?

1. “Why not? He doesn’t owe Trump anything and everyone deserves a shot at a promotion.”
2. “Tonto isn’t supposed to challenge the Lone Ranger.”
3. “The more candidates in the race, the better it is for Trump.” (With happy face or frown face)

And how lucky is Trump? Ron DeSantis has signaled Trump’s COVID response is going to be one of his angles of attack. But who’s now going to be on that debate stage but the head of Trump’s COVID Task Force. For his own sake, Pence is going to have to defend the Trump Administration response. And can articulate it better than Trump can.

For that matter, if DeSantis makes the argument that he can deliver Trump policies without the Trump baggage, the former VP will be like, “Hold my milk.”

By the way, remember that Stream survey? We’re just getting a peek at some of the findings. Seems — generally speaking — a solid majority of you think highly of Trump, Pence and DeSantis. So let’s be praying for a civil primary season worthy of the country each is aiming to lead. And a focus on the nation, not each other.
