The Brew: United Chooses DEI Over Friendly Skies and Meet the New High Flying Miss America
Happy Tuesday!
Dealing with cold? Ice? Snow? Why not stay in with a good Brew?
Iowa Caucus
Iowans held their caucuses last night and almost unanimously voted for more global warming.
As for the candidate totals, we’ll have the results on The Stream.
Seems Like a Simple Question: Can a Man Become a Woman?
When you want to be President of the United States, some questions should be an easy βNo.β βShould Iran be allowed to get a nuclear weapon?β βShould anyone be allowed to waltz across our border illegally?β βShould your family members be pocketing millions from foreign enemies just to curry favor?β Hereβs another one: βCan a man become a woman?β
Nikki Haley was asked that question directly by an Iowa voter. And she dodged it like a snowball. As the Daily Caller reports, after saying she was against sex changes for people under 18, she said added:
After the age of 18, we want to make sure people can live any way they want to live. I donβt think government needs to be in control of anybodyβs life. You go live the way you want to live, you should be free to live the way you want to live. And β¦ government and everybody else should stay out of your way.
Ah, but thatβs not the same as whether a man becomes a woman. I can grab a sword and pistol and yell βAhoy, Matey,β but that doesnβt make me Blackbeard. Given how much Haley uses her sex as a plus for her campaign, you think sheβd be pretty clear on the topic. Especially after declaring males being allowed to play in women’s sports the “women’s issue of our time.”

Ron DeSantis was asked the same question in September by Glenn Beck. His answer: βNo,β he said, before adding, βHow ridiculous that weβre even asking that question?β

United CEO Pushes DEI Over Quality
Yesterday we mentioned how Delta and the FAA have fallen under the DEI/woke spell. Well, here comes United CEO Scott Kirby. “We’ve committed that 50% of the (aviation academy) classes will be women or people of color.” A quota. Right now, only 19% of pilots at United are women or people of color.
Scott Kirby, the CEO of United Airlines (@united ), wants to emphasize that Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) guided racial and gender quotas are the key considerations when determining who will be piloting your upcoming flight. pic.twitter.com/tGztV7YCnM

What Kirby doesnβt like is people of faith, if a lawsuit filed against United is to be believed. According to the suit and internal communications, Kirby expressed animosity toward employees of faith who sought exemptions from the COVID mandate. One union president told Kirby his actions amounted to a βpurge of religious orthodoxy.β Breitbart tells you about it. And if Libs of Tik Tok is to be believed, Kirby is into drag. And I’m not talking about the aerodynamic term used in aviation.
This is Scott Kirby, the CEO of @united. He likes to dress up in drag. United hired a drag queen to be their CEO and now United has turned their focus to incorporating drag into their business and sponsoring drag shows. https://t.co/Hhzd5o6SyN pic.twitter.com/9tqkjTfVvs

Meanwhile, in keeping with Kirbyβs hiring directives, meet Unitedβs new head of baggage handling.
Yeah, we made that up. Former Biden Energy Department honcho Sam Brinton is not working for United. So at least your baggage should arrive safely.
Hereβs an odd thought for a Tuesday morning. What if all these DEI stories with airlines and the FAA is a clever way to get people to stop flying as part of the war on βclimate changeβ?
Naaaaah.
Letβs talk about a female pilot deserving of a big tip of the cup.
New Miss America an Air Force Pilot!
A new Miss America was crowned Sunday night. While at this point we should be shocked that a real woman is allowed to win a beauty pageant, the news is even better. Your new Miss America is an active-duty Air Force pilot! 2nd Lt. Madison Marsh is the first active duty Air Force officer to win the crown, and the Air Force was pleased as punch.
Congratulations to our very own #Airman, 2nd Lt. Madison Marsh, aka Miss Colorado β who was just crowned @MissAmerica 2024! Marsh is the first active duty servicemember to ever win the title.#AimHigh pic.twitter.com/3RuDu5CulW

For the talent portion of the contest, Marsh shot down a MiG. (Actually she did a spoken word piece on getting her pilot license at 16.) As if serving in our military wasnβt enough, Marsh is also a graduate intern at Harvard Medical School, and is working for a masters at Harvard in public policy.
Huh? Fani Willis Responds to Report She Was in Adulterous Affair With Dude She Was Paying Hundreds of Thousands to Hunt Trump. Blames Race.
Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis stood in a church pulpit Sunday to address criticism over her paying over $635,000 to her married lover to hunt Trump as a βspecial prosecutor,β while benefiting personally from those payments. She blamed racism and sexism for the criticism. Willis claimed critics are βplaying the race cardβ by singling out special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who is black. (She having an affair with the two white ones she hired as special prosecutors as well? If not, someone in that church should remind her of the bit about βbearing false witness.β)
Willis herself played the race card, declaring, βYou cannot expect black women to be perfect and save the world. The Lord is completing us. We are not perfect. We need your prayers. We need to be allowed to stumble. We need grace. With that kind of support we will move mountains and do Jesus’ will.β
βYou cannot expect black women to be perfect and save the world”? Perfect?! Weβll settle for the countyβs top legal authority not enriching herself and her boyfriend during a politically-motivated witch hunt. And what in the world does your race and sex have to do with anything?
Willis also invited the congregation to her pity party, saying how she wrote a letter to God saying she felt βunworthyβ of the job. “A divorced single mom who doesn’t belong to the right social groups. Doesn’t necessarily come from the right family. Doesn’t have the right pedigree. The assignment was just too high for lowly me,” Willis said.
Wadeβs wife might have some thoughts on that, as would divorced women who donβt abuse their power. Still, Willis did appear to admit to the affair, as ABC News reports, repeatedly describing herself as βflawedβ and βimperfect.β
DA Fani Willis breaks her silence on the scandalous affair and improper use of taxpayer funds:
"You cannot expect black women to be perfect and save the world"
"We need to be allowed to stumble"
— End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) January 14, 2024
Public figures are human and do stumble. Public figures β¦ at least of one political persuasion β¦ are not shown grace. And it does the process no good for anyone to be gleeful at the legal fix Willis now finds herself in. But it sure would help if Willis would take full responsibility for her actions, rather than blame her race.
