The Brew: There’s No Debating It, They’re Nuts: Interior Dept. Bans Real Sex Terms While SCOTUS Judge Won’t Say ‘Woman’ in Abortion Decision

If you work for the Interior Department, don't you dare call this a "mother bear."

Happy Friday!

Making the Brew extra strong this morning for those who stayed up for the debate and aftermath. You can check out my wrap-up, “The Trump-Biden Debate,” and keep your eyes out for John Zmirak’s take on the event, to appear tomorrow afternoon.

But for now, let’s check out some of the other stories from Thursday.

Was Miss Maryland Pageant Which Crowned a Trans Fixed? Contestants Speak Out

A contestant by the name Bailey Anne Kennedy was recently crowned Miss Maryland USA. Kennedy’s skill in the talent portion of the competition? Urinating while standing up. Yes, the new Miss Maryland is a man, and several contestants are now speaking out. They tell the Daily Signal’s Mary Margaret Olohan the other contestants were not informed that Kennedy was a male. Said Elizabeth McCarthy, “At first, I was shocked. I felt sick to my stomach and was so upset for the other women in the top five. I was disgusted and disappointed that the pageant coordinators allowed women to undress in front of a man without any disclosure.”

Several contestants expressed the belief the competition’s outcome was β€œpredetermined.” A polite way of saying “fixed.”

β€œA transgender woman gets crowned during first day of transgender Pride Month?” one asked. β€œIt did not seem like a coincidence. Especially when owner of the pageant is a transgender woman herself. I was feeling like neither myself nor my fellow contestants had a fair opportunity from the beginning.”

Another contestant who wished not to be named explained why she’s suspicious. Kennedy is a self-described β€œstay-at-home wife with no kids.” Problem is the contest awards women not only on beauty, but hard work and professional success. β€œI met a lot of women who were moguls in business, philanthropy, and more,” she said, “But Bailey ended up winning without a job or being in school. How does that showcase or inspire women/young women that they can do anything?”

The women want an apology from pageant organizers and to be reimbursed for the money they put out on outfits, makeup and hair.

Interior Dept. Orders Employees to Stop Using Words Like Husband, Wife, Son and Daughter

The U.S. Department of Interior is telling employees to refrain from using gender-specific terms like husband and wife, son and daughter, the Daily Wire reported Thursday. Their new 24-page β€œinclusive language guide” also urges workers to avoid terms that imply gender is binary.

I wonder, is the Park Service allowed to talk about Mama bears? Or does the rule only apply to the one species on the planet stupid or insane enough to deny its own biological reality?

It gets even more bizarre. Seems even the phrase β€œpreferred pronouns” is now off limits. The guide says people should refrain from using the phrase “preferred pronouns” because that implies people get to choose what pronoun they identify with.

So doctors can β€œassign” a baby a sex. But a transgender has no say in what pronoun he uses? They’re compelled to be he/him today, she/her tomorrow, they/them next Tuesday?

Supreme Court: Okays Emergency Abortions in Idaho, Holds Off on Immunity

The Supreme Court did not issue its crucial ruling on presidential immunity Thursday, so the wait continues. However, the High Court sent a case involving Idaho’s protective abortion law back to the 9th Circuit, allowing “emergency” abortions for now. It did not address the merits of the case.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson again proved she’s a few cases short of a docket. In her partial dissent opinion, she refused to use the term β€œwoman” … in a case involving abortion. She referred instead to β€œpregnant patients.”

12-Year-Old Girl Murdered by Illegals Buried as Mayorkas Insists Our Border’s Just Fine

Hours before last night’s debate, 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray was laid to rest in Houston. Her alleged murderers? Two Venezuelan illegal immigrants who were stopped at the border earlier this year, then released into the United States.

Yet, Joe Biden and his Homeland Security Secretary still deny any culpability for the rising death toll from their open border. In fact, Mayorkas insisted Wednesday Biden’s β€œtough” border security efforts are working.

He then offered this whopper. β€œThe safety and security of the American people is our top priority,” Mayorkas said. β€œWe screen and vet individuals when we encounter them.”

Mayorkas downplayed the threat posed by 50 unaccounted-for illegal immigrants brought into the country by an ISIS-affiliated smuggling ring and released by the Biden Administration, saying: “We have no evidence that they are individuals plotting to harm the United States.”

Imagine the gaslighting needed to contend people brought here by an ISIS-connected group aren’t β€” by definition β€” a dangerous threat. As if those ISIS smugglers went, β€œI think I’ll give up beheading infidels and get a fresh start in travel services!”

As one Border Patrol source told the New York Post, β€œI don’t know what Mayorkas is smoking because it needs to be legalized.”

Meanwhile an illegal immigrant from Turkey has just been arrested for the rape of a New York teen.
