Biden Takes No Responsibility for Economy in Speech About Inflation

Joe Biden passes the buck the way Patrick Mahomes passes a football … all different ways, from all different angles. And relentlessly.

In his speech yesterday explaining away the nation’s economic woes, Biden pinned inflation on COVID … even though the nation’s economy was roaring back to life by the start of 2021. And he blamed it on “Mr. Putin’s war in Ukraine.”

You know who else he went after? President Trump and “Ultra MAGA Republicans.” We’ll deal with this “Ultra MAGA” business in a second.

No mention of his trillions in government spending, a sure guarantee to cause inflation. No mention of his energy policies and war on fossil fuel ending our energy independence, and limiting our ability to counter Putin. No mention of the fact that Democrats control the White House, House and Senate … and pretty much all mass media.

Finally, a reminder: Inflation when Trump left office was at 1.4% and gasoline was $2.39 a gallon. And the economy was growing and projected to grow even faster. Our economy, like our 401(k)s, is shrinking.

Maybe instead of Biden, we should blame it on the Easter Bunny.

What is This ‘Ultra-MAGA’ That’s Suddenly Being Used?

Have you noticed the phrase “Ultra-MAGA” popping up on the news? Particularly out of the White House? Joe Biden used it yesterday in his ramblings about inflation. POLITICO, administration loyalists that they are, used it in an article about rising GOP Senate candidate Kathy Barnette.

Psaki said Tuesday that Biden came up with the phrase “Ultra-MAGA” last week.

Yeah, but he thought he was talking about a feminine hygiene product.

But what’s it mean? “Extreme” MAGA? MAGA … only more so? Why’d they add the Ultra? Is it because MAGA now represents low inflation, low interest rates, low gasoline prices, high wages, high employment, high border wall. And thus describing something as MAGA may be a good thing?

Perhaps the people actually running the White House understood how damaging it was for Biden to insult half of America when he snarled about the “MAGA crowd,” so they had to come up with something MAGA adjacent. Plus, it’s another way to call the supporters of Trump extremists.

Which gets to a final point. Does the White House really think the same people who turned “Deplorables” into a badge of honor won’t do the same with “Ultra-MAGA”?

They never learn.

Musk Says He’d Reverse Twitter Ban on President Trump

Elon Musk says he’ll reverse Twitter’s ban on Trump when he takes over, calling the social media giant’s permanent ban of the president “morally wrong and flat-out stupid.”

Twitter … after spending 2020 doing all it could to stop Trump’s re-election … issued the permanent ban after January 6, when Trump saying “peacefully and patriotically protest” was dubbed an “incitement to violence.”

Trump has said he isn’t interested in returning to Twitter, focusing instead on his own Truth Social.

Of course liberals are losing their mind over the prospect of Trump being back on Twitter. I’m no MENSA member, but it seems if you don’t like a Trump tweet, don’t read ‘em!

Lightfoot’s ‘Call to Arms’

By the way, I just checked. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (@chicagosmayor) is still on Twitter. Lightfoot issued a “call to arms” to fight against the overturning of Roe v. Wade. “To my friends in the LGBTQ+ community – the Supreme Court is coming for us next. This moment has to be a call to arms,” she tweeted. “We will not surrender our rights without a fight — a fight to victory!”

Sounds like an “incitement to violence” to me. And, not incidentally, ignorant of what overturning Roe would do. Said Texas Scorecard publisher Michael Quinn Sullivan, “If this isn’t a call to insurrection, what is?”

A Better Idea for Solving California’s Increased Use in Water

Saw this tweet from Associated Press:

California’s water usage jumped nearly 19% in March, defying pleas for conservation from state authorities. Gov. Gavin Newsom responded to the news by pledging to spend an extra $26 million on water conservation programs.

Here’s a crazy idea. You want to cut down on California water usage? Rather than spending millions more on conservation programs, stop spending billions on incentivizing illegal immigrants to flood your state. The more people you have, the more people are using up your water.

Five years ago, the Federation for American Immigration Reform estimated California spent $25.3 billion a year of state and local tax dollars on its illegal alien population. At the time, FAIR estimated there were nearly 3 million illegal aliens in the state.

So Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was testifying before the Senate Banking Committee Tuesday. She argued that Roe v. Wade boosted women’s workforce participation.

“Just for clarity’s sake,” responded Sen. Tim Scott. “Did you say that ending the life of a child is good for the labor force participation rate?” He called that “harsh.”

Yellen denied being harsh, and went onto argue that for teens, low-income women and minorities, having a child would limit their educational and career opportunities.

Scott’s response was perfect. “I’ll just simply say that as a guy raised by a black woman in abject poverty, I am thankful to be here as a United States Senator.”
