The Brew: Secret Service Agent Abandons Post at Trump Event to … Breastfeed?!

Today’s Brew starts with a spit take.

No, This Isn’t from the Babylon Bee: Secret Service Agent on Trump Detail Ditched Post to Breastfeed

It’s only been a month since the Secret Service’s failure to protect Donald Trump nearly got the former president killed. You’d think those agents would now be at the top of their game, operating by the book, to make up for that monumental mistake.

You’d think wrong.

A Secret Service agent assigned to Trump’s event on Wednesday in North Carolina abandoned her post without permission minutes before Trump’s arrival to … wait for it … breastfeed. Susan Crabtree broke the mind-blowing story.

The agent in charge of the site was doing one last sweep and came upon the wayward agent in a room reserved for critical Secret Service operations. In case you’re wondering, agents are not allowed to bring children along on protective assignments.

The Secret Service did not deny the incident happened, saying only that there was “no impact” on the North Carolina event, and the “incident is being examined.”

Not to throw around the letters D, E, and I, but this incident comes mere months after a female agent on Kamala Harris’s vice presidential detail had an emotional breakdown and attacked her supervisor while waiting for Harris to arrive at Joint Base Andrews. [Al Note: This is not to suggest in any way women should not be Secret Service agents. Those who meet the rigorous standards should AND ARE serving bravely and honorably.]

Harris to Talk Economy Policy Today … and Price Controls

Kamala Harris will actually be talking about policy today, and the preview sounds like something right out of Prava.

According to her campaign, Harris will propose fighting high prices by calling for “the first-ever federal ban on price gouging on food and groceries — setting clear rules of the road to make clear that big corporations can’t unfairly exploit consumers to run up excessive corporate profits on food and groceries.”

Yup. She’s talking about price controls. And as journalist Christopher Rufo reminds us, we know this story: “Flood the market with inflation. Shift the blame to the ‘capitalists.’ Promise to crack down on ‘price gouging.’ When that fails, on to the next step: expropriation.” And food shortages.

Something else to watch today will be how CNN responds to Harris’s proposal. Just a couple of months back, CNN shot down the idea that “price gouging” was responsible for the crippling surge of inflation the past three years.

Will its reporters stay true to the facts, or pretend their earlier analysis never happened?

These folks. They’ll force us into bread lines, then knock us for eating carbs.

At Least One VP Debate is Set

J.D. Vance and Tim Walz will be squaring off in a vice presidential debate on October 1 on CBS. Vance says he’s also agreed to CNN’s invitation to a debate on September 18.

Meanwhile, a question for you health nuts out there: How many carbs are Walz and Harris burning off by running away from interviews and press conferences?

Third Anniversary of Afghanistan Withdrawal

This week marks three years since the U.S. military’s catastrophic, inept withdrawal from Afghanistan, which left 13 of our finest dead, Afghanis who helped us in dire straits, America humiliated, Russian President Vladimir Putin emboldened, and the Taliban back in power — all orchestrated and overseen by the Biden administration. Other than that, it was a splendid accomplishment.

On Wednesday, the Taliban held a parade with some of the top-of-the-line weaponry Biden and Harris just left there for the taking.

After the withdrawal, Harris boasted that she was the “last person in the room” when the decision was made to abandon the Bagram Air Base and order the hasty, fatal withdrawal of troops from Kabul’s airport.

Then again, maybe it was a really, really big room and she didn’t hear what Biden was deciding.

Funny … they didn’t mention any of that during their joint appearance just outside Washington, D.C., on Thursday. It was their first joint appearance since Biden was unceremoniously shoved off the Democratic presidential ticket for Harris.

RFK, Jr. Smacks Down Harris and Democratic Party

On Wednesday, rumors surfaced that independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. had wanted to meet with Kamala Harris to discuss dropping out of the race in exchange for an administration position, but the Harris campaign didn’t respond. On Thursday, Kennedy lit up the Democrats and Harris like a homecoming bonfire.

He starts off by declaring the Democrats are not the party of his father and uncle, shredding it for becoming the party of censorship and “neocon warmongers.” He then moves on to waylaying Harris:

I’ve used our nation’s courts to prosecute corporations who hurt Black Americans. VP Harris used our nation’s courts to mercilessly prosecute Black Americans and exploit them for their labor.

Kennedy declared Harris to be “scared of debate,” and someone who relies on “middleschool tactics – memes, forged headlines, infantile slogans (Joy!) and name-calling (‘Republicans are weird.’)”

A bit of advice, Harris. Next time, take the call.

Border Agents Asked to Rat on Relatives Who Thought Election was Rigged?

Did the Biden-Harris administration tell Border Agents to rat out family members who believed the 2020 election was rigged? That is the shocking claim by a citizen journalist who reports on border activity around the globe. Writing on Gateway Pundit, Jeff Rainforth says:

An agent who spoke to me under the condition he remains anonymous told me that immediately after Joe Biden took office in 2021, official email communications from his administration instructed all Border Patrol agents to turn in family members, friends, and coworkers if they believed that the election was stolen or tampered with.

He said the administration also wanted info on those who fought COVID restrictions and vaccines. Rainforth offers no corroborating evidence. However, given how insanely the FBI has been hunting anyone who had with anything to do with January 6, not to mention the way the DOJ has been targeting even election officials who were suspicious of the 2020 results, are you surprised?

They’re Dancing in the Streets and at the White House

Have you seen the dance video featuring CGI versions of Elon Musk and Donald Trump released after their conversation Monday? (Well, at least their heads on the bodies of real dancers.) Both Trump and Musk reposted the video, but here is the original.

I’ve seen reports that Musk wants to team with Trump to recreate the video — which, if it happens, may well break the internet beyond repair.

Meanwhile, they’re also dancing at the White House. Here’s Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre breaking out her moves on company time.
