The Brew: SCOTUS to Hear Child Sex-Change Ban Case, CNN Host Boots Trump Spokesman for Quoting CNN’s Own Jake Tapper
Happy Tuesday! What will you be having with your Brew this morning?
If you are CNN’s Kasie Hunt, you are having a cow. But first …
SCOTUS to Take Up Issue of Child Sex Changes
Here’s a question you never would have imagined a few years ago the U.S. Supreme Court would have to answer: “Is it okay for states to prohibit doctors from removing the healthy body parts of gender-confused children?”
Yet, yesterday the Supreme Court agreed to hear an appeal from the Biden administration challenging states that have banned sex-changes surgeries and hormone treatments for minors (what is euphemistically called “gender-affirming care”).
The case is United States v. Skrmetti, which challenges Tennessee’s law against such child mutilation and sterilization.
Perhaps that is a question Trump could ask Biden Thursday night. “Why are you so eager to chop off the healthy breasts of young girls that you are pleading that cause all the way up to the Supreme Court?”
Nurse Who Blew Whistle on Sex Changes at Texas Children’s Hospital Speaks Out
Nurse Vanessa Sivadge of Texas Children’s Hospital says doctors there pressured parents to give their kids hormone therapies and sex-change surgeries, even manipulating them with the scientifically dubious claim that it was a choice between giving the children the (expensive) treatments or having them commit suicide.
Sivadge opened up to the New York Post on why she came forward.
“Parents were manipulated by doctors with an ideological agenda to go down this path of medical transition for their child,” she said. She claims the doctors would do things based on what the patient wanted, not what was medically best. “There was just no discussion of what are the risks, what are the long-term effects.”
The nurse also says the doctors ignored children’s underlying mental-health issues to push the transgender agenda.
“Many of them had previous ER visits for attempted suicide, many of them are autistic, many of them are depressed and anxious, and that’s really devastating because it’s really clear there’s something else going on in addition to having confusion about their sexual identity,” she said. “That just really devastated me.”
There’s also potential Medicaid fraud involved. Sivadge says the doctors “were misdiagnosing patients intentionally for the purpose of justifying puberty blockers and hormones.” They would claim healthy girls had a testosterone deficiency and healthy boys had an estrogen deficiency in order to have Medicaid pay for the treatments. Texas law prohibits Medicaid funds from being used for child “gender-affirming care.”
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has now opened an investigation.
Bail Set at $10 Million for One of Two Illegals Charged in Murder of 12-Year-Old
Last month, Franklin Jose Pena Ramos of Venezuela crossed the southern U.S. border illegally. Last week, Ramos and another Venezuelan illegal named Johan Jose Rangel Martinez were charged with capital murder in the heinous death of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston. Yesterday, Ramos made his first appearance in court, and his bail was set at $10 million.
Both men had been stopped at the border. Both were released by U.S. Border Patrol, per Biden administration policy, and given a notice to appear in court at a (much) later date. In other words, they were given the opportunity to find and murder a young girl, then dump her in a bayou.
Joceyln’s mother Alexis Nungaray is determined to accomplish something good from this awful event.
“She [Jocelyn] was a very special little girl that deserves her justice and I know she’s going to make a difference in this world for all children,” she said. “And now it’s my job to make sure it continues to happen.”
Debate Prep: CNN Host Loses It When Trump Spokeswoman Points Out Debate Moderator’s Bias
It’s not exactly a state secret that CNN’s Jake Tapper has it out for Donald Trump. (Then again, nobody watches CNN anymore so maybe that is a secret to hundreds of millions of people.)
However, when Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt brought up the fact that Tapper, a “moderator” at this week’s debate, has a history of anti-Trump bias, host Kasie Hunt lost her professional demeanor, rudely cutting Leavitt off. “I am going to stop this if you continue to attack my colleagues,” she announced. When Leavitt pointed out why her comments were relevant, CNN cut her mic and let Hunt cut to commercial.
BREAKING: CNN host @kasie CUTS OFF Trump spokeswoman @kleavittnh the second she brings up Jake Tapper spending years comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler

Why does that matter? Because Jake Tapper is moderating Thursday’s presidential debate, which could help determine the fate of the country. Pointing out that Trump won’t exactly be on a level playing field is hardly the stuff of hysteria. His co-moderator Dana Bash also makes clear her distaste for Trump; she also happens to be married to one of the 51 intelligence honchos who signed onto the lie that the facts about Hunter Biden’s laptop were “Russian disinformation.”
Does Hunt think CNN viewers didn’t already know none of the on-air personalities at the station like Trump? Does she not realize that in most cases, the few viewers CNN still has actually like Tapper and other hosts smacking on Trump?
Jack Posobiec spent yesterday morning reminding folks of Tapper’s history of Trump hatred. Tapper peddling fake dossier. A medley of Tapper comparing Trump to Hitler. He didn’t even like Trump talking to Cuban-Americans after a court appearance. And after Biden was proclaimed the winner of the 2020 presidential election, Tapper declared America’s “long national nightmare” to be over.
Other CNN hosts conspired to get the station’s chief operating executive, Chris Licht, fired for allowing Trump to appear on a CNN Townhall discussion. (So Leavitt pointing out the obvious is hardly worth Hunt’s response.)
In a prissy tweet, Hunt later claimed Leavitt was disrespecting a fellow cohost.
You come on my show, you respect my colleagues. Period. I don’t care what side of the aisle you stand on, as my track record clearly shows.

Maryland congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik had a simple question. “How was bringing up Jake’s own words disrespectful?”
How was bringing up Jake’s own words disrespectful?
You let your emotions complete take over during that segment, so unprofessional. You should apologize to @kleavittnh.
We all have our days, I’m sure many will understand.

True enough, Kimberly. We all have our days.
Debate Prep II: Former White House Physician Calls for Biden to Be Tested for Drugs Before Debate
The White House physician for both Barack Obama and George W. Bush is calling for Joe Biden to be tested for performance-enhancing drugs before and after Thursday’s debate. Doctor-turned-Congressman Ronny Jackson (R-TX) says, “We don’t have any choice.”
I’m going to be demanding on behalf of many millions of concerned Americans right now that he submit to a drug test before and after this debate, specifically looking for performance-enhancing drugs; because we see, we’ve seen recently in his State of the Union address that there was a Joe Biden that came out that was not similar at all to what we see on a day-to-day basis for the last 3 1/2 years.
It’ll never happen. But one of the big questions at the debate will be Biden’s physical performance. We’ll just have to wait to see how he shows up.
