The Brew: Really? The Slope was Too Steep? The Assassination Attempt Was Faked? RFK Jr.’s Son Leaking His Dad’s Private Conversations?

Happy Wednesday!

Well, a perplexing Wednesday, I should say.

The Inexplicable Lapse Explained?

I’m still trying to wrap my head around Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle saying there weren’t snipers on the roof where Trump’s would-be assassin camped out on Saturday because the slope was too steep … when other snipers were on nearby roofs with much steeper angles. Still trying to figure out how Thomas Crooks could be up there so long he could have had a pizza delivered without being thwarted.

Still trying to figure out if Sean Davis, in his amazing post yesterday, is right.

It concludes:

They called him Hitler. They said he was an existential threat. They said he would destroy democracy. They said he was the most dangerous person on earth. Then they denied him security. They kept the rooftop open. They watched the shooter and did nothing. They kept Trump on that stage. And they didn’t do a d— thing until after he had been shot in the head. And we’re all supposed to believe it was just an innocent oopsie?

Do you know what the slope excuse reminds me of? Attorney General Merrick Garland claiming the FBI is having trouble finding the people who bombed and torched churches and pro-life pregnancy centers after Roe was overturned because the perps “work at night.” It’s really just that Biden’s DOJ doesn’t want to find those terrorists. It’s getting harder not to at least question whether his Secret Service leaders didn’t want to stop Crooks.

Maybe we’ll have some answers soon. James O’Keefe posted on X that discouraged Secret Service agents are approaching him in tears.

Saturday’s failure to stop the shooting — orchestrated or not — becomes even more astonishing if the following report is true.

Reports: Secret Service Boosted Security Around Trump After Learning of Iran Plot Against Former President

Both CNN and Fox News reported Tuesday that the Department of Homeland Security had received intelligence saying Iran was plotting to assassinate Donald Trump. The Secret Service supposedly responded by beefing up protection around the former president. What we saw was “ramped-up security”?

However, sources say the attempt Saturday was not connected to the Iranian plot.

Besides, according to some Democrats, the whole assassination attempt was staged.

Democrats, Including Elected Officials, Suggesting Trump Staged Assassination Attempt

Even those who believe the earth is flat are saying, “C’mon, man” to this one! There are actually Democrats running around claiming that Donald Trump staged Saturday’s assassination attempt.

It’s not just random people on the street. Actress Amanda Seals of HBO’s Insecure said, “That **** was more staged than a Tyler Perry production of Madea Runs for President.” She claimed the blood was from a fake blood “pellet.” An actual elected official — Douglass Orr, the mayor of Aberdeen, Washington — called Trump’s wound a “self-inflicted scratch.” Said Orr in a now-deleted post, “Short of Biden dieing [sic], this is about the only thing that could happen that would artificially gain Trump sympathy votes,”

Do they really believe that? Or do they just take their cues from the top? Once again on Monday night, Joe Biden repeated the lie that Trump called white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, “very fine people.”

A refusal to acknowledge reality is baked into the Left. When you insist boys can be girls and girls can be boys, all of reality is up for grabs.

We should have some fun with them. Tell them this Babylon Bee story is true.

Craziness Will Cost You: Jack Black Cancels Tour After Bandmate’s Sick Remark About Trump

Actor-musician Jack Black has canceled the remainder of his Australian tour with Tenacious D after bandmate Kyle Gass expressed on stage his birthday wish as, “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

The backlash was enormous, and now Black has released a statement saying he was “blindsided by what was said at the show Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.” He said that after much reflection he thought it appropriate to cancel the remainder of the Tenacious D tour, and “all future creative plans are on hold.” Tenacious D was in Sydney at the time, leading United Australia Party senator Ralph Babet to call for the revocation of Black’s and Gass’s visas.

Silly Season: RFK Jr. Forced to Apologize After Son Leaks Video of Him Chatting with Trump

Former President Donald Trump had a private phone chat with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on Sunday. Well, it was supposed to be private. Kennedy’s son, Robert. F. Kennedy III, was filming and decided the world just had to know what Trump was saying. So he leaked the video. (That post has since been deleted.)

RFK, Jr. has apologized to Trump, saying he was “mortified” by his son’s actions. (Responded Joe Biden, “Hold my beer.”)

On the call, Trump talks about childhood vaccines and a possible role for Kennedy in his administration. He also describes getting shot, saying it was like being bitten by the “world’s largest mosquito.”

Menendez Guilty of Bribery and Corruption

U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has been found guilty of bribery and corruption. Menendez famously was found with piles of cash and gold bars stashed in his suits and around his home. It’s the gold bars that make the case so epic.

You gotta respect Menendez going old school, though. No using his son to funnel payoffs through dozens of shell corporations and random relatives like someone else we know (whose name rhymes with Widen, as in “use your office to widen your bank account”).

Jonathan Turley agreed, saying Tuesday, “I have had friends in D.C. ask ‘Who still stuffs money into clothes?’ This was Capone-era corruption stuff.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has called on Menendez to immediately resign.

DOJ Appeals Decision Tossing Classified-Documents Case Against Trump

As expected, the U.S. Department of Justice is appealing Monday’s decision by federal Judge Aileen Cannon to throw out the classified-documents case pending against Trump in Florida. Cannon ruled that both the appointment and funding of the special counsel was unconstitutional. Of course, the liberal media is losing its collective mind over this and calling Cannon all manner of terrible things.

They and Special Counsel Jack Smith should look at the bright side: The case was tossed on constitutional grounds, and Smith may well win at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Had the case moved forward as it was, it very easily could have been tossed out because the FBI tampered with the evidence and Smith made misrepresentations to the court. (Ask Alec Baldwin how prosecutorial misconduct works.)

But this way, the focus is on the judge and legitimate legal arguments — not the corrupt lawfare against Trump.

Besides, do the Democrats really want to keep reminding America over the next five months that the only reason Biden hasn’t been charged for spreading classified documents all over the East Coast like campaign leaflets is because Robert Hur thought him too mentally incompetent to stand trial?
