The Brew: Post Christmas Day Cheers … and Jeers

By Al Perrotta Published on December 26, 2023

So … how was your Christmas? Lots of β€œPeace on Earth, Goodwill to Family”?

Well, we’ve done up a little Brew for you to catch up on some of the happenings why you were decking the halls.

Times Square Shares the Birth of Christ

Been a while since we’ve been able to put β€œbeautiful” and β€œNew York City” in the same story, but here we go. You know all those big, fantastic billboards in Times Square that light up with ads for big corporations and Broadway extravaganzas? The other day for the first time the ads went dark, replaced with the story of Jesus Christ’s birth.

… as Pro-Palestinian Protesters Take Aim at Christmas

Yet another protest was held in New York Christmas Day in support of Hamas. They say β€œPro-Palestinian,” but you don’t see a peep about scenes like these, where Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid being brought across from Egypt come under fire from Hamas terrorists who then make off with the aid.

As New York Post reported, the mobs dragged a bloodied Nativity through Midtown Christmas Day, chanting β€œChristmas is cancelled here.”

On Christmas Eve, a car caravan of protesters blasted Washington Square Park with loud music to drown out Christmas carolers.

New York was hardly the only site of protests designed to disrupt the celebration of Christmas. Protesters shut down a highway leading to O’Hare Airport on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

Protesters in San Francisco decided to take their rage out on a Christmas tree.

Meanwhile, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rewrote the Nativity story making Jesus out to be a Palestinian, and comparing Israel’s action against Hamas to King Herod’s massacre of the innocent. She conveniently left out the part where Herod was deliberately targeting Jewish children specifically to get at the newborn “King of the Jews.” AOC also left out Hamas’s deliberate slaughter of innocent children on October 7.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Brandon Williams”Swatted” on Christmas Day

Georgia police confirm that Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Green was β€” once again β€” “Swatted” on Christmas Day. That’s when someone calls the police with the bogus claim of a murder and active gunman at someone’s house in the hopes a SWAT team response will lead to the accidental killing of the occupant. In this case, the suspect claimed he had shot his girlfriend and was threatening to shoot himself. MTG says this is the eighth time this has happened to her. Police contacted her security and quickly determined it was a hoax.

β€œMy local police are the GREATEST and shouldn’t have to deal with this,” the congresswoman tweeted. “I appreciate them so much and my family and I are in joyous spirits celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ!”

New York Rep. Brandon Williams was also swatted Christmas Day. Thankfully nobody was injured … and Williams kept his holiday spirit.

Government Tracks Santa for Public … But Lied to Us About Chinese Spy Balloon

On Christmas Eve, as is tradition, NORAD tracked the flight of Santa Claus, sharing all the info on St. Nick’s journey with the public. The Pentagon was happy to do that. Telling the truth about that Chinese spy balloon? Not so much. In a bombshell report dropped amid the hustle and bustle of the Christmas rush, NBC News revealed that the Biden Administration wanted to hide the existence of that Chinese spy balloon that was scooping up classified information from sensitive sites not only from you and me, but from the U.S. Congress.

“Administration officials at first hoped to conceal the balloon’s existence from the public, and from Congress, according to multiple former and current administration and congressional officials. ‘Before it was spotted publicly, there was the intention to study it and let it pass over and not ever tell anyone about it,’ said a former senior U.S. official briefed on the balloon incident.”

It was only when the spy balloon was spotted in Montana that the White House admitted its existence.

But even then former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley – you know, the guy who did an end run around the Commander-in-Chief in the final days of the Trump administration – lied to the American people. He declared the Chinese weren’t getting any useful information from the balloon. Not so, according to NBC News.  The balloon was transmitting data back to China until its existence was publicly exposed.
