The Brew: Kamala Looks at a Map; Megyn Apologizes for Buying Trans Lies; Tebow Rescues Handicapped Haitians
A glorious Holy Week to you!
Did I miss anything while I was out of the office? A huge Brew tip of the hat to John Z for filling in for a few days.
Letβs start by turning our eyes to the Holy Land.
Holy Tuesday: You Can Move Mountains
On Holy Tuesday, Jesus came upon a fig tree. Finding it bare of fruit, He cursed the tree, which then withered. While preaching later that day, He brought up the fig tree and the power of faith.
“Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, βBe taken up and cast into the sea,β it will happen. And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:21-22)
Kamala Warns Israel About Entering Rafah: βIβve Studied the Mapsβ
Vice President Kamala Harris is warning Israel not to move forward to eradicate the Hamas terrorists who are holding out in the Gaza town of Rafah near the Egyptian border (currently sealed tighter than a drum). As she told ABC Newsβ This Week, “I have studied the maps. There’s nowhere for those folks to go. We’re looking at about a million and a half people in Rafah who are there because they were told to go there, most of them.” When asked if there would be consequences if Israel defies the White House and carries out its mission, Harris replied, βI am ruling out nothing.β
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unfazed by Harrisβs threat. “It is impossible to defeat the sheer evil by leaving it intact in Rafah,” he said. “As in ancient times, like our brothers, we are also united. We are fighting and will be victorious.”
Sorry, Letitia: No Padlocks on Trump Tower Today
Oh, the weeping and gnashing of teeth. The media dream of New York Attorney General Letitia James beginning to seize Donald Trump’s properties at the stroke of midnight shattered Monday morning when an appeals court dramatically reduced (from $454 million to $175 million) the bond the former president needs to pay in the civil fraud case he is facing in state court. His deadline to deliver the funds also was extended by 10 days, which Trump says heβll do βquickly.β
Trump thanked the court for its swift action, and again blasted Judge Arthur Engeron as a βdisgrace to this country.β

When asked what collateral heβd use for the $175 million bond, Trump had a one-word answer: “Cash.”

Last week, the Biden campaign mocked Trump as βBroke Don.β
Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day.
Democrats should count their blessings that the bond was lowered. Pollster Frank Luntz β no fan of Trump β believes James grabbing Trump’s property would hand him the White House in November.
“I want you to remember this moment, and don’t forget it,” Luntz told CNN. “If the New York attorney general starts to take his homes away, starts to seize his assets, it’s all going to be on cameraβ¦. You’re going to create the greatest victimhood of 2024, and you’re going to elect Donald Trump.”
Joe Biden Wants to Overturn Congressional Ban on Flying Pride Flags at Embassies
Last Saturday, President Joe Biden signed a new $1.2 trillion government overspending bill. (You know, the budget that has so much pork you canβt bring it anywhere near a mosque?) But one item in it has the president in a tizzy. No, itβs not the fact that the bill does nothing to secure the border, nor is it the $750,000 earmarked for something called TransLatin@ Coalition to push transgender ideology on little kids while calling for the elimination of prisons. Rather, Biden is mad the bill bans U.S. embassies from flying the Pride flag; he is vowing to repeal the ban.
βI Was Part of the Problemβ: Megyn Kelly Apologizes for Past Support of Trans Ideology
After talking with a detransitioned young woman, Megyn Kelly has apologized for her past support of transgender messaging and language.
I am kind of emotional about it now because I look at Isabelle and what was done to her. I realize I was part of this problem. My heart was in the right place. I wasn’t trying to push anything bad on kids. I thought I was being supportive of them. I thought I was promoting anti-bullying. I am not a regretful person, but I just have such regret about it.
Kelly was referring to a sympathetic segment she taped in 2018 on transgender kids, adopting the language of the radicals, such “gender-affirming care,” “cis,” and “assigned male at birth.β After eschewing the use of preferred pronouns last summer, she’s now going to war against the devastating ideology being aimed at our children.
“You are hurting people like Isabelle β people who are vulnerable, who have been hurt. You have to fight whether it is a donation, or using your voice, or retweeting support for people like Isabelle and Jordan. Do something,β Kelly wrote. “Please don’t protect yourself, and don’t be lured into thinking it’s empathetic to support this radical experimentation on minors.β
Manhattan School District Fights Back Against Males in Female Sports
Last week, a school district in Manhattan voted to review the borough’s 2019 gender policy allowing boys who identify as female to compete in womenβs sports. The Community Education Council District Two resolution claims the process showed no indication βthat female athletes, coaches, or sports medicine doctors or evolutionary biology experts were ever consulted or considered despite the long history of female athletes fighting for equitable and meaningful access to sports participation.”
Instead, “the Guidelines were developed by the Cityβs first LGBTQ Liaison and stakeholders who were already supportive of replacing sex with gender identity.”
The district proposes establishing a Gender Guidelines review committee, which would include female athletes, parents, and relevant medical and biological experts.
Meanwhile, last week Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill were dismissing the potential harm of males competing with women. An emotional Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), for one, declared, “It is a tiny portion of people across the country that identify as trans, and not a single one of them is doing anything to harm you or your family.”
Former high school volleyball player Peyton McNabb, whose athletic career ended when a biological male spiked a ball right into her head, responded to Jayapal on X.
“My life is forever changed because of an injury by a boy,” she said. “So yeah β¦ men have harmed women in our sports. But as long as your feelings donβt get hurt, right?”
Just getting back from my second doctor appointment this week, a year and a half later, Iβm definitely going to have to disagree. My life is forever changed because of an injury by a boy.

If you missed it, here’s what happened to Miss McNabb (both the injury and her description of the aftermath).

Sure, Tim Tebow Just Rescued Handicapped Kids From Haiti, But He Still Canβt Throw
A football coach once famously said, βI want Tim Tebow to marry my daughter. I just donβt want him quarterbacking my team.β The former NFL player again is proving why he is a Hall of Famer off the field, even if he wasnβt quite one on the gridiron. Tebowβs charity foundation has teamed with the Sentinel Foundation to rescue 59 severely disabled children from Haiti.
On this day Iβm so grateful. Iβm grateful for the amazing frontline heroes that have all come together to care for 59 incredible image-bearers from Haiti who have severe disabilities but are incredible fighters.
They have been relocated out of danger and into freedom! Thank you⦠pic.twitter.com/DEw0NPgSHt

Tebowβs team alerted the Sentinel Foundation, which has been performing extractions from Afghanistan to Israel and now in Haiti, to the plight of the disabled. According to Fox News, Sentinel operated by land, sea, and air to perform the rescues, delivering these precious souls to safety in Jamaica in recent days.
