It’s Super Bowl week, so the week should fly by “Swiftly.”
Speaking of which our “Conservative Not Bitter” buddy Todd Huff in his latest dismisses claims the NFL is fixing the Super Bowl to boost Taylor Swift and thus Biden. But he does offer a warning in “The Left’s Low-Key Strategy.”
We’ve also got a new Resolute up talking about Biden camp concerns about photos emerging from Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified information, and Nikki Haley’s surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Happy Birthday to America’s Oldest Living Person!
Happy 116th birthday to Edith” Edie” Ceccarelli of Willits, California! She is America’s oldest living person, the oldest person to ever live in California and the second oldest person in the world. Local Fox 59 reports residents of Willits will be treating Edie to a drive-by parade. The parade for Edie has become an annual tradition.
“I think it’s going to be very well attended,” family member Evelyn Perisco said. “Hard to put a number on it, but last year it went for a couple of hours.”
As Fox40 noted, when Edie was born, Theodore Roosevelt was president, and Babe Ruth was still six years away from playing in the majors. She is literally older than sliced bread! That didn’t come around until 1920.
According to Evelyn, “She would ask ‘Why am I still here? I don’t understand it,’ and I said, ‘Edie, God has a plan for you.’ My conclusion? I just feel she’s God’s chosen one.”

In New York, if you rescue citizens on a subway from a potentially deadly attack, you get charged with murder. If you swarm, punch and kick police officers and happen to be an illegal immigrant, you’re on the street with no bail and a hearty “Send us a post card from California!”
D.A. Alvin Bragg is defending his decision to release the illegals caught after attacking NYPD cops, saying “we didn’t have enough evidence.” The brutal attack was caught on video.
NEW: Migrant mob beats NYPD officers near Times Square, released days later without bail according to the New York Post.
It's almost as if New York City is *encouraging* people to beat up their officers.

But video wasn’t enough for Alvin. ‘While the video is shocking and disturbing, in order to secure convictions in the court of law, it is essential that we conclusively identify each defendant.” And the assault … on police officers … wasn’t serious enough to keep these illegal immigrant criminals behind bars.
To add insult to injury, suspect Jhoan Boada flipped America the bird after his release … an image that perfectly summarizes America in 2024, an image that will stapled to Joe Biden and the Democrats this election.
How bad? As we talk about in a new Resolute, this incident has one of the Hollywood’s most vocal Trump haters considering a Trump vote.
Inspirational Comeback: Joni Mitchell Makes First Grammy Performance Ever … 8 Years After Devastating Brain Aneurism
These days Hollywood entertainment award shows have all the allure of a hangnail, however last night’s Grammy’s had a moment worthy of a tip of the cup. Legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell performed at the Grammy for the first time in her career at age 80. What makes the performance worth mentioning here is in 2015 Mitchell suffered a brain aneurism. Career-wise, the writer of “Both Sides Now” was down for the count … supposedly.
Instead, Mitchell fought to relearn how to walk, talk, get herself out of bed. And she also relearned how to play the guitar and sing to the point she can actually perform full concerts. (Like some 21st Century teenager, she learned by watching videos of guitarists.)
Last night Joni Mitchell was up there showing acts a quarter of her age how it’s done. A feat to think about if you’re thinking you’re over the hill.
We can’t talk about musical legends without mentioning this weekend’s somber anniversary.
Saturday Marked the 65th Anniversary of “The Day the Music Died”
Second only to the murder of John Lennon, February 3, 1959 stands as the worst day in rock-n-roll history. On that snowy day, a plane carrying rock pioneer Buddy Holly, only 22, teen sensation Ritchie Valens, “Chantilly Lace” singer The Big Bopper and their pilot crashed in a field near Clear Lake, Iowa killing all on board.
Singer Don McLean would pinpoint that day as the kickoff point for all the chaos and rebellion of 1960’s music and culture in his epic “American Pie,” dubbing it “The Day the Music Died.”
“As the flames ride high into the night, to light the sacrificial rite, I saw Satan laughing with delight the day the music died … ”

The first time I ever heard of the Holy Spirit was in that song: “And the three men I admired most, the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost, they caught the last train for the coast the Day the Music Died.” Great line. Lousy theology. God didn’t abandon anybody. But on a day like February 3, 1959, if you were a teenage music fan and three of your heroes lay dead in a frozen field, it could sure feel that way.
Now 65 years later, what the Lord put in those artists is still with us. We can laugh with Big Bopper, mimic his “Helloooooooo, Baby.” We can dance as David danced to Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba.” And every pimply, gangly kid in glasses who thinks he’s too awkward and geeky to make it in show biz — to make a mark — can take one look at Buddy Holly … and his amazing legacy … and go, “Oh, Boy.”
