The Brew: Kamala Flips on Border Wall?
Happy Wednesday!
Let’s get pouring.
Harris Flip-Flop: Suddenly Wants the Wall
When it comes to flips, Kamala Harris is now on par with Simone Biles. And this latest one is downright Olympian. Axios reports that Harris now βpledges to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the wall along the southern border β a project she once opposed and called ‘un-American’ during the Trump administration.β
Un-American? She also called it a βwaste of taxpayer money,β βmedieval,β and when she was running for Senate, she said, “Trumpβs border wall is just a stupid use of money. I will block any funding for it.” And of course, as border czar Harris let materials that had already been purchased to build the wall go to waste.
But now, under relentless hammering for having failed to secure the border — her one big task as vice president — Harris is suddenly sounding like the Bad Orange Man. Or at least her campaign is. Harris is still doing less talking than a French mime.
Did Harris tell her running mate sheβs suddenly pro-wall? Because Tim Walz has said he wants to invest in a βladder companyβ to help illegals get over the wall and into our nation.

Of course, Harris hasnβt really changed her mind on the border. Do you see Harris rolling in the construction crews to build the thing right now while her erstwhile boss, Joe Biden, is chilling at the beach and she’s been effectively left in charge?
Harris Flip-Flops on Debate: Wants Hot Mics After Agreeing to Muted Mics
According to Donald Trump, the ABC News debate on September 10 in Philadelphia is a go, under the same rules as Trump’s CNN debate with Joe Biden in June.
After agreeing to the rules earlier, Harris suddenly demanded that mics remain unmuted. Biden had wanted mics muted when the other candidate was speaking, and we saw how that turned out. Harris wants hot mics for similar reasons. The more she talks off the cuff, the worse she sounds. But also, she’s banking on the chances that Trump will interrupt her, allowing her to do what she did to Mike Pence in their debate in 2020: βExcuse me, Iβm speaking.β
True, Trump interrupting anyone in a debate works against Trump. On the other hand, he is not Mike Pence. If Harris says βIβm speaking,β Trump will respond with something like, βYeah, but youβre not saying anythingβ or βYeah, but itβs all baloney.β For Trumpβs part, after hinting he may pull out of the debate, heβs now saying heβs fine with the mics being on.
According to Trump, ABC has promised that the debate will be βfair and equitable.β Perhaps — but itβs easy to be suspicious. Moderator Linsey Davis just last week compared Trump to the KKK. Whatβs more, ABC News is controlled by one of Harrisβs dear friends, Disney executive Dana Walden. Sheβs the lady who once set Harris up on a date with Doug Emhoff, the man who is now seeking to become the nation’s First Gentleman.
The Trump camp said Harris wanted the debate to be held sitting down and with notes. And a robust California chardonnay. (Okay, I made that one up.)
Odd: Dem Senator Who Encouraged Harris to Run for Senate Wonβt Endorse Her
Yesterday, we mentioned that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wanted an open process to get a new Democratic presidential nominee after Joe Bidenβs “withdrawal” from the race because they donβt think Harris has the goods to go the distance. Today, we have Sen. Jon Tester of Montana saying he is not going to endorse Harris. What makes this strange is that not only is it peculiar for a Democratic senator not to endorse another Democrat, but Tester helped recruit Harris to run for Senate in the first place.
Testerβs excuse? He wants to concentrate on his own (very tight) reelection race and wants it to focus solely on Montana.
Thatβs lame. How hard is it to say, βWell, duh, of course Iβm going to support my party’s presidential candidate. But letβs talk about Montanaβ? Then never mention Harris again. But Tester specifically came out and said heβs not endorsing anyone. He personally knows Harris. Heβs knows the way the media has puffed her up this past month is an illusion, and sheβll ultimately be a drag on his race.
The irony? The Democrats booted Biden specifically over the fears he would hurt down-ballot candidates.

Meanwhile, another Senate race to watch is under way in deep blue Maryland. A new poll shows the former Republican governor, Larry Hogan, is in a dead heat with Prince Georgeβs County Executive Angela Alsobrooks.
The question is: Will the likable Republican who wants no part of Trump be able to lure enough Democrats statewide who want no part of anyone from Prince Georgeβs County to vote for him?
Paralympics to Allow Trans Runner, While Trans Golferβs Odds of Joining LPGA Rise
The Paralympics are getting underway today in Paris. Unfortunately, the Games, usually so inspiring, have fallen prey to radical gender ideology and for the first time will allow a person born male to compete against women in track. Fifty-year-old sprinter Valentina Petrillo of Italy will compete in the T12, 200m, and 400m races. Petrillo βtransitionedβ in 2019. In other words, long after puberty. In other words, a fully-developed male will be competing against natural-born females.
Petrillo told the BBC that competing in the Games is an βimportant symbol of inclusion.β A lawyer representing female athletes who oppose Petrillo participating in womenβs races said the Paralympics organizers have chosen inclusion over fairness.
Meanwhile, transgender golfer Hailey Davidson’s efforts to get on the LPGA tour took a step forward Saturday when Davidson finished in the top 95 at the LPGA Q-series prequalifying tour.
Davidson also blasted the βmassive lieβ that as a biological male he is outdriving all the women. “Clearly conservative media needs to give these amazing female athletes WAY more credit rather than belittle them and their capabilities all in an attempt to attack transgender athletes,” Davidson said.
Talk about belittling people. Davidson recently took to Instagram to blast female athletes who speak out on the unfairness of being forced to compete against males.
“I will never understand athletes who blame a transgender competitor on their own athletic failures,” Davidson said. “If you donβt take accountability for your failures then you will never actually be good enough to make it.”
There’s only one word for that kind of statement: βmansplaining.β
