The Brew: Illegal Immigrants ‘Built This Country’? Banning Men from Competing Against Women is a ‘Slap in the Face to All Female Athletes’?
Welcome to a typical Monday in 2024.
Happy Monday!
No, I didn’t watch the Oscars. Who needs four hours of “I’d like to thank the Academy, my agent and my pronouns”?
Besides, the best acting performance of the year was by the lady in the Select Quote commercial that’s been running all the time, called “John and Anne.” The one where the wife finds out she and her husband don’t have life insurance. Her shoulders slump and she just says, “John.” The actress in that commercial does more with one word than Meryl Streep does in two hours of The Devil Wears Prada. Every husband in the world knows that tone — and cowers when he hears it.
Biden Messes Up His Clean Up Over Using the Word “Illegal” … Suggests Illegal Immigrants “Built This Country.”
No less a person than Barack Obama once declared, “Never underestimate Joe’s ability to (mess) things up.”
The cascade of errors stemming from Joe Biden’s State of the Union address is actually staggering.
One: For two weeks he refused to say the name “Laken Riley.”
Two: During his address, Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene goaded him into finally saying Riley’s name, but instead of “Laken,” he called her “Lincoln Riley”— twice.
Three: He followed that by saying “Lincoln” was “killed by an illegal..” This sent Democrats into a tizzy. How dare he say “illegal” instead of “undocumented”! The party showed far more concern about labeling a murderer an “illegal immigrant” than about that illegal immigrant bashing in the head of a precious American girl.
Four: The day after the address, Biden wouldn’t apologize. Instead, he mumbled something about the killer who was “technically not supposed to be here.”
“Do you regret using the word ‘illegal’ to describe immigrants last night?”
BIDEN (short circuiting): “Well, I probably, uhhhh, I don’t re— it, uhhh, aghhh, technically not supposed to be here…” pic.twitter.com/ubl5SEOAyc

However, it was Biden’s own policies that welcomed Riley’s killer in like visiting royalty.
Five: Biden then went on MSNBC to apologize for using the word “illegal.”
Six: In doing so, he suggested that illegal immigrants “built this country.”

We know that freedom, ordered liberty, industriousness, and rule of law built this country, not illegal immigrants. Ironically, during the State of the Union address, Biden himself declared that “the middle class” built this country. So his notion that illegal immigrants built it is idiotic on its face and an insult to the millions of people who came here legally and sweated to help make us great. It’s a particularly cruel insult to those who were slaves. Black voters, do you think illegal immigrants built this country?
Let’s see how Biden’s comments play to the large chunk of the Democratic voting base that already thinks he puts illegal immigrants ahead of them.
And to think, all of this bungling came after a speech the media insisted was masterful, vigorous, fiery and “put to rest” the idea that Biden’s not up to the job of being POTUS.

Laken Riley’s mother, Allyson Phillips, said last Friday she found it “pathetic” that Biden blew her daughter’s name. “If you are going to say her name (even when forced to do so) at least say the right name!”
Speaker Mike Johnson attacked Biden’s apology, saying, “The president is cowering to his base and showing deference to a man who deserves none.”
The president is cowering to his base and showing deference to a man who deserves none.
This man is an illegal immigrant who brutally murdered Laken Riley.
President Biden should be apologizing to Laken’s family.
What an embarrassment. pic.twitter.com/NhX0sxSbsM

Donald Trump used a Saturday evening rally in Georgia to blast Biden for his border policy’s role in Riley’s death and for apologizing for saying “illegal” rather than “undocumented.”
For the record, a good number of illegal immigrants do have documents. They’re just counterfeit.

NXXT Golf Blocks Biological Men From Women’s Tour. Trans Golfer Says Decision is “Slap in the Face” to Female Athletes
In the wake of outrage over big and buffy biological male Hailey Davidson winning the NXXT Women’s Classic in January, the NXXT Women’s Pro Golf Tour has announced a ban on biological men competing in its events, effective immediately. CEO Scott McKinnon said in a statement,
As we navigate through the evolving landscape of sports, it is crucial to uphold the competitive integrity that is the cornerstone of women’s sports. Our revised policy is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to celebrating and protecting the achievements and opportunities of female athletes. Protected categories are a fundamental aspect of sports at all levels, and it is essential for our Tour to uphold these categories for biological females, ensuring a level playing field.
Astonishingly, Davidson declared the decision a “slap in the face to all female athletes.”
Roast on that one a minute.
Meanwhile, Sunday was Mothering Sunday in England, the UK’s version of Mother’s Day, which takes place annually on the fourth Sunday of Lent. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, long targeted for destruction by trans activists for insisting women are women and men are men, took full advantage of the occasion in the most wonderfully acerbic way.
❤️💐Happy Birthing Parent Day to all whose large gametes were fertilised resulting in small humans whose sex was assigned by doctors making mostly lucky guesses ❤️💐

Virginia HS Student Sues Over District’s Transgender Policy
Citing fears for her safety and violations of her religious beliefs, a Virginia high school senior has sued her school district over its transgender policies.
America First Legal is representing the girl, identified only as “Jane Doe,” and arguing that the Fairfax County School District policy of allowing biological boys in girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms endangers Doe’s safety, while mandating the use of students’ “preferred pronouns” “forces her to lie” about the reality of biological sex, which violates her Catholic beliefs.
“Fairfax County Public Schools appears to believe that its policies and regulations can override the Virginia Constitution’s protections for religious beliefs, speech, and from government discrimination on the basis of sex and religious beliefs,” America First Legal Senior Adviser Ian Prior told the Washington Examiner. “It is well past time for FCPS to stop sacrificing the constitutional rights of its students so that it can implement a state-sanctioned ideology that demands compliance in speech, beliefs, and conduct.”
Tuesday Is Detrans Awareness Day
Tuesday is Detrans Awareness Day. Detransitioners who are speaking up are having an effect. Author and detransitioner Laura Becker shares the encouraging story of another girl who stopped plans to begin hormone treatments after they met at an event.
I have a friend who desisted after living fully stealth as trans for years. She desisted because she met me and other detransitioners at an event. She didn't know we would be there, but seeing us inspired her to desist and cancel her medical appointments to start hormones.

Responded Billboard Chris on X, “It’s the social contagion in reverse. Peer influence works both ways.”
The tide is turning thanks to brave voices like Laura and Chloe Cole. Cole was Speaker Mike Johnson’s guest at the State of the Union address.
The speech was a little too partisan for my taste, but I loved the atmosphere!
Thank you @SpeakerJohnson for the amazing opportunity! It was great meeting you and your wife!!! pic.twitter.com/1d3dvI5npI

Which reminds me, who wouldn’t pay good money to see Chloe square off against HHS Assistant Secretary Rachel Levine in a congressional hearing on transitioning minors?
Right Down the Center of the Plate and Into Our Hearts
In closing, The Stream family had a big day at spring training in Florida recently. Our own Tom Sileo teamed with his daughter, Natalie, to throw out the first pitch at her beloved Washington Nationals game on Saturday.
Nat, who was born with Down Syndrome and is named after the team, tossed the ball to her dad, who turned and hurled one over the plate. No Dr. Fauci wayward bouncers for Sileo.
Nat & I just threw out the first pitch at tonight’s @Nationals game at @CACTIParkPB! Thank you to the #Nats & the wonderful ballpark staff for hosting us. #SpringTraining #DownSyndrome #NATitude pic.twitter.com/fbeQ8Lz8xA
