An Era of Coaching Giants Ends

Nikki Haley’s major pitch on the campaign trail is we need a “new generation of leadership.” We thought she was talking about politics, but she must have been talking about football. Two of sport’s greatest coaches of all time will no longer be at the helm next season.

Alabama football coach Nick Saban, who turned the Crimson Tide into a perennial college powerhouse, announced his retirement Wednesday. Saban won seven national titles, including an astounding six in 17 years at Alabama. In his retirement remarks, Saban stressed it was always about more than football. “The goal was always to help players create more value for their future, be the best player they could be and be more successful in life because they were part of the program.”

He choked up when talking about his wife and her role in his coaching journey.

Thursday morning, word broke that the greatest coach in NFL history, Bill Belichick was parting ways with the New England Patriots after 24 years. “We’re going to move on,” Belichick said. He leaves behind six Super Bowl victories in 12 appearances. And 17 division titles. Plus 333 career victories, second only to Don Shula’s 347. Belichick is also known, of course, for his allegiance to the John Fetterman School of Fashion.

But while Saban is retiring, Belichick is likely not done yet. He still wants to coach, and seven other teams are in the market. Whoever lands him lands a giant.

Meanwhile, NFL playoffs get underway tomorrow with a weekend full of action. Six wild card games. Hundreds of beer commercials.

Dr. Fauci Admits the Six-Foot Distancing Idea That Helped Wreck the Country Was Made Up, But is “Not Convinced” His School Lockdowns Harmed Learning

Three years ago, Dr. Anthony Fauci donated his personal 3D model of the SARS-CoV-2 viron to the Smithsonian’s Museum of American History. Fauci himself should be on display in the Museum of Natural History as a prime specimen of weasel.

Fauci testified this week before the House Select Committee on Coronavirus Pandemic that the six-feet distancing rule — you know, the one that helped force school lockdowns, business shutdowns and millions of snarls and nasty stares — was a fiction. He said it was not based on science and “just sort of appeared.” Just sort of appeared? Like what, the millions in royalties he got from Big Pharma?

Or maybe Fauci’s a snake. The former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) also admitted the Wuhan Lab Leak theory was not a “conspiracy theory” … even though he personally worked tirelessly to kill debate and discussion on the matter, and vilified the scientists who suggested it.

He’s certainly as blind as a bat. Rep. Michael Cloud told the New York Post Fauci said he’s “not convinced” the school lockdowns he pushed for harmed student learning. “He says he’s still not convinced that there was learning loss — that in his view, that’s still really open for discussion.”

California Wants to Ban Tackle Football for Those Under 12?

The same state that’s okay with 11-year-olds having their sexual organs mutilated is against them playing football?! A new bill in California would ban tackle football for children under the age of 12. The idea is to reduce brain injuries. Of course, California has no problem wrecking kids’ brains any number of ways. Forcing them into lockouts, convincing them they could be dozens of gender identities, training them that white kids are by definition racist and America stinks, welcoming fentanyl-carrying illegals with open arms. But the gridiron’s the problem?

The committee that regulates sports in the state voted 5-2 on the measure, sending it to the full Assembly. According to the Associated Press, the full assembly has only until the end of the month to approve it.

Johns Hopkins Deletes Offensive “Privilege List”

On Wednesday, Johns Hopkins put out a list putting a target on who is guilty of being “privileged.”

Ohio House Overrides Governor’s Veto of Ban of Sex-Changes for Minors and Men From Competing in Women’s Sports. Senate Next

Looking like Ohio’s state legislature is splitting the uprights when it comes to keeping males from competing in women’s and girls’ sports and keeping children safe from mutilation. The House has voted to override Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s veto of a bill that would ban sex-change surgeries and puberty suppressors for children. The bill also keeps dudes out of female competitions. The vote was 65-28. The Ohio Senate is scheduled to vote to override the veto on January 24.
