The Brew: Gallup Poll Shocker: Are Generation Z Adults Really Twice as Likely as Millennials to Be LGBTQ+?

Happy Thursday! Today’s Brew is ready to pour.

Fashion … or Fundamental Change in Biology?

According to a new Gallup poll, more than 20 percent of GenZ adults now identify as LGBTQ+. Furthermore, the overall number of people identifying as LGBTQ+ has more than doubled since 2012, from 3.5 percent to 7.6 percent. (That’s up a full 2 percent from just four years ago.) Gallup predicts that within three decades, more than 10 percent of American adults will claim to be LGBTQ+.

Women are almost twice as likely as men to do so, with 8.5 percent identifying as LGBTQ+ versus 4.7 percent of guys.

One fascinating discovery: Say pollsters, “Overall, each younger generation is about twice as likely as the generation that preceded it to identify as LGBTQ+.”

One question: For anything to double every generation is a lot. The poll shows two-thirds of the Gen Z-ers currently saying they are LGBTQ+ list themselves as bisexual. How many are saying they are LGBTQ+, rather than straight, because of cultural pressure? Is it because the rainbow flag is fashionable? Is it because insisting there are only two genders is β€œintolerant”?

It’s a fascinating poll folks will be talking about a lot, and the Biden administration will certainly use it to tout dropping even more tax dollars on LGBTQ+ propaganda. Random thought:  What would happen if, for a whole month every year, every facet of our culture dedicated itself to celebrating godliness? Maybe we’d see that double with every generation, too.

Sanity Comes to Great Britain as National Health Service Bans Puberty Blockers for Minors

The United Kingdom’s National Health Service confirmed on Tuesday it will no longer allow children to be given puberty blockers.

β€œWe have concluded that there is not enough evidence to support the safety or clinical effectiveness of puberty-suppressing hormones to make the treatment routinely available at this time,” administrators wrote in a policy document.

Maya Forester, executive director of advocacy group Sex Matters, told The Guardian: β€œThe significance of NHS England’s statement that there is not enough evidence to support the safety or clinical effectiveness of puberty blockers cannot be overstated, given the success that activist lobby groups have had in portraying them as a harmless and reversible treatment.”

The move toward sanity comes after NHS England ordered the Tavistock gender-identity clinic in London closed over safety concerns. That facility is now scheduled to close its doors at the end of the month.

So, U.S., are you going to let the Brits stay ahead of us in ridding our children of this manic scourge of sex changes for children? Unfortunately, we’ll have to rid ourselves first of medical β€œprofessionals” on our own shores who are still pushing thatnonsense. The Daily Caller News Foundation reported Monday that doctors at last year’s American Academy of Pediatrics conference complained that detransitioners were allowed to appear at the event, which created an β€œunsafe space” for attendees.

Does this sound like a threat to you? Good grief! Call in security!

Hey, doctors. If a young woman like Chloe Cole makes you feel unsafe,  you’re the one with the problem.

Speaking of safety: Did you know that a study published in the Journal of Urology in 2021 revealed that men who have gender-reassignment surgery are twice as likely to attempt suicide in the two years after the surgery than they were before having it? (For women, the attempted suicide rate remained unchanged.) Science reporter Benjamin Ryan posted about it on X  Monday. Kudos to Not-the-Bee for spotting it.

The study is further evidence that claims that it’s β€œbetter to have your child cut off healthy body parts and β€˜transition’ or else they will kill themselves” are false. It also bears out the importance of mental health treatment when dealing with gender confusion. Which brings us back to NHS England: The Brits now plan on including mental health as part of a new β€œholistic approach to care” for children with gender issues. That beats pumping them full of drugs that cause irreversible damage and pulling out a scalpel to mutilate them for life.

β€œWe Will Not Endorse Nonsense”: Arkansas Governor Rescinds Rule Allowing Drivers to Put β€œX” on Their Licenses

Arkansans will no longer be able to indicate X for gender on their driver’s licenses, rather than male or female. Moreover, the gender listed on the license must align with that on the individual’s birth certificate.

“This policy is just common sense,” said Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders. β€œOnly women give birth, men shouldn’t play women’s sports, and there are only two genders. As long as I’m governor, Arkansas state government will not endorse nonsense.”

Haiti Troubles Coming Our Way as Congressman Helps Rescue Trapped Americans

Another governor taking care of business is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is posting an additional 250 officers and State Guard along Florida’s southern coast to protect the Sunshine State from an expected wave of Haitian refugees fleeing a standoff between cannibalistic gangs and their government at home. U.S. Defense Department officials told Congress Tuesday they have been alerted to a possible β€œmaritime mass migration” from the impoverished island nation.

Also taking care of business is Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), who deployed a team to rescue a group of Americans trapped in Haiti. β€œI am proud to report that my team and I were successful in evacuating and rescuing a trapped and at-risk group of Americans from β€˜Have Faith Orphanage’ in Haiti last night,” he posted on X.

The ten Americans saved in the helicopter rescue worked at the orphanage, including Detroit Free Press columnist Mitch Albom, the charity’s founder. He called it one of those β€œBlack Hawk Down kind of feels, with somebody shouting β€˜go, go, go, go!’”

This is no one-off for Mills. He and his team staged rescue missions in Afghanistan to save Americans who were abandoned after President Biden’s disastrous 2021 troop withdrawal. He also extracted 32 Americans from Israel after the Hamas terrorist attack last October.
