The Brew: Disney Brings Back the Seven Dwarfs, Hamas Atrocities Bring Back Anti-Semitism

"Yeah. It's us. We're back. Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, it's off to the set we go."

Happy Monday!

Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho. It’s off to the Brew we go.

The Seven Dwarfs are Back! Disney’s Woke Snow White Delayed … Getting Make-Over

Keep making noise. Woke corporations are starting to listen. Disney announced Friday it is pushing its woke live action Snow White a full year to March 2025. And apparently major changes to the movie are afoot. The film was doomed for disaster, especially after lead actress Rachel Zelger trashed the original Disney classic, declaring that Snow White was β€œnot gonna to be saved by the prince, and she’s not gonna be dreaming about true love.” In fact, she called Prince Charming a creepy β€œstalker.”

The fact that Zelger, a woman of color, was cast as Snow White certainly raised eyes from the start. Disney making the casting choice showed disrespect to the original Brothers Grimm fairy tale. That they picked someone so disrespectful of the original only added insult to injury. Cast Ryan Reynolds as Black Panther, and have Reynolds trash Chadwick Bosman. See how that goes.

Disney’s Snow Woke was also facing enormous heat for trading the beloved Seven Dwarfs for an homage to β€œdiversity” that mostly snubbed little people … to the very vocal ire of acclaimed Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage, who has dwarfism. Instead they were creating seven β€œmagical creatures” to β€œavoid reinforcing stereotypes.”

Well … looks like Disney is doing a revamp. Disney, in their statement  β€œinvites audiences back into the magical world of Snow White with beloved songs and recognizable characters such as the Evil Queen and, of course, Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy and Doc.”  (“Of course?!”)

Accompanying the announcement is a photo of Snow White, surrounded not by the woke magical hodgepodge, but CGI renditions of the familiar characters from the original animated classic.

Total aside: I wonder if Sneezy will be doing product placement for Zyrtec?

Even if Disney succeeds in squeezing out the woke out of its version of the classic, it might be too late.

Bentkey, the new streaming service birthed by the Daily Wire to offer the kind of family programming Disney used to be famous for, is coming out with its own Snow White in 2024. It’s called Snow White and the Evil Queen. Not much is known about the production yet, other than it stars Brett Cooper as the title character, and will hold to the β€œtimeless values” of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Bentkey has offered a tantalizing little tease.

β€œYou’ve Got to Be Carefully Taught” (To Hate): Broadway Producer Caught Cutting Down Posters With Israeli Hostages

A Broadway producer has been caught cutting down a flier with the images of the Israelis kidnapped by Hamas. A rather despicable fad you’ve been seeing since the slaughter of October 7, along with the pro-genocide rantings on campuses coast-to-coast. A Broadway producer? Broadway, which has been shoving β€œtolerance” and β€œdiversity” down theater-goers throats for the past decade or so?

James L. Simon was videotaped taking down the flier off a traffic monitor box in a heavily Jewish part of the Upper West Side. In an excuse that even Rep. Jamaal Bowman would find laughable, Simon insisted to the New York Post he was just trying to keep the neighborhood clean; that the flier violated city Sanitation Department rules. β€œI’m a strong supporter of free speech and encourage people to express their opinions,” he explained, “but all I’m asking is to do it legally.”

THAT’s what you’re going to clean up?! In New York City?!?!?!

Meanwhile, the New York University law student leader who lost a prestigious job offer over her enthusiastic support for Hamas after they murdered 1,400 innocent Jews was caught on camera obscuring the faces of Israeli hostages on posters. Ryna Workman defaced the posters directly after defending Hamas again in an interview with ABC News.

There’s more. New York City’s brand new appointee to head the Commission on Racial Equity wants to exterminate a whole race. The New York Post reports Linda Tigani has a long history of β€œspewing anti-Semitic rhetoric,” including repeatedly posting and reposting β€œfrom the river to the sea,” which is a euphemistic way of saying “wipe Jews off the map.”

β€œYou Gotta Be Carefully Taught”: Encore

Yesterday, a mob of β€œPro-Palestinians” stormed the Makhachkala airport in the Russian Republic of Dagestan to hunt down Jews who were arriving on a flight from Tel Aviv.

The flight was diverted to another airport, where another riot greeted it. β€œPassengers were instructed to remain inside the plane and riot police were called to the scene to protect them, the report says,” The Times of Israel reports, citing Channel 12.

β€œTell us where the Jews are,” one β€œprotester” demanded of ground mechanics.

Near Tulane University right here at home, three Jewish students were assaulted by pro-Hamas demonstrators during an off-campus protest Thursday. Tulane would not allow the protest on campus. See here:

Getting back to that Broadway producer, these stories immediately spring to mind β€œCarefully Taught” from South Pacific.

You’ve got to be taught to hate and fear,
You’ve got to be taught from year to year,
It’s got to be drummed in your dear little earβ€”
You’ve got to be carefully taught!
