The Brew: Cats … Now and For Dinner

By Al Perrotta Published on September 13, 2024

Happy Friday the 13th! I’m not superstitious. In fact, nowadays if I see a black cat, I don’t avoid it. I just tell it, β€œRun! Run for your life!”

We joke, but what is happening in Springfield, Ohio right now is deadly serious.

The Daughter of a Haitian Immigrant Speaks

What is more disturbing: reports that some of the Haitian migrants dumped on the town of Springfield are stealing and eating pet cats and dogs and local geese, or that the media and political elites are so quick to dismiss the stories and the real hardships laid upon the people of that fair town through the Biden-Harris administration’s policies?

The daughter of a Haitian immigrant has gone viral for her simple framing of the story, posting the simple fact that eating cats is part of the Haitian culture. Rebeka Faidia lists two reasons: Hait’s abject poverty and the rituals of the voodoo religion.

This clip is worth the view.

When listening to the naysayers, we have to remember that these are the same people who tried to convince us that U.S. Border Patrol agents whipped Haitians trying to enter the nation illegally, which wasn’t true. Kamala Harris was one of those slanderers, by the way. She has yet to apologize for the false accusation.

Former Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson is warning her party that mocking Trump’s plea for the people of Springfield could backfire at the ballot box.

Folks may be focusing on the cats, but we can’t forget the calamity wrought by the willy-nilly relocating of mass numbers of migrants to small towns. Witness, for example, the testimony of a longtime homeless advocate in Springfield. He tried telling the city council Tuesday night that the vouchers the government is giving the Haitians for housing have forced citizens out of their homes and onto the streets.

“I don’t know of a single homeless Haitian in this town because they all got vouchers!” he said. “I can show you a whole bunch of people that have been displaced. They moved them out and tripled the rent, follow the money.”

Steve Deace made a wonderful point on X: “Keep this in mind: If corporate media can see our cat memes on X, they can see these videos, too.”

Love this guy. The beard, the look, what he says about Jesus. He talks about serving the homeless for 25 years. “It ain’t about me,” he says. “It’s the Jesus in me that goes out there and does it.”

Real-Time Proof Harris Is Lying About Late-Term Abortions

During Tuesday’s debate Kamala Harris denied that late term abortions happen. When Trump tried to pin her down on if she thought abortions should be allowed in the 7th, 8th and 9th month, Harris refused to answer.

A young woman from Students for Life decided to fact-check Harris in real time. She called up an abortion mill in Maryland asking if they would do an abortion for her at 34 weeks. Yup. Been doing it regularly since the ’70s.

Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins did the same, calling a late-term abortion facility to see what they would say. Seems that getting a late-term abortion is as easy as ordering a pizza. (Pardon the bystander’s profanity, but this is how some hard-line abortion advocates really think.)

What does the animal story above have in common with the abortion story here? The denial that Harris’s policies have very real and very grotesque consequences, and they are taking place right this minute.

Meanwhile, in another body blow to the unborn, a North Dakota state judge struck down the state’s ban on abortion, arguing that the state constitution creates a fundamental right to access abortion before a fetus becomes viable.

Listen to the gobbledygook from Judge Bruce Romanick’s 24-page order, as reported by Valley News Live:

The abortion statute at issue in this case infringes on a woman’s fundamental right to procreative autonomy, and are not narrowly tailored to promote women’s health or to protect unborn human life. The law as currently drafted takes away a woman’s liberty and her right to pursue and obtain safety and happiness.

The good news? There are no abortion mills in North Dakota, and the GOP-controlled state government is expected to appeal this decision.

What? More Lies and Distortions Uncovered?

During Tuesday night’s presidential debate, Kamala Harris made a big deal of claiming that Goldman Sachs had determined her economic “plan” (whatever that seems to be) would benefit the country far more than Trump’s plans. But Goldman Sachs CEO David M. Solomon said Wednesday, β€œA lot more has been made of this than should be.” Seems the report affirming Harris’s “plan” came from an independent analyst, NOT Goldman Sachs, and most significantly, only gave it a meager 0.2% advantage over Trump’s. Solomon accused Harris of greatly exaggerating the report.

If Satan is the father of lies, Kamala Harris may well be his stepdaughter. Yesterday, her campaign delivered another doozy: They deceptively edited a clip of J.D. Vance to make it appear he wants to privatize care for veterans, while the full clip shows the opposite. Vance wants to include private care in the options given vets while definitively declaring he does not want to shut down the Veterans Administration.

If this is the kind of lie the Left tells to get power, what lies will they tell when holding power?

And finally, Harris’s attorney general delivered what is clearly the funniest line of this week.
