The Brew: Another Nail-Biting Day in the Race Between Impeachment and the 25th Amendment

Happy Wednesday!

First up, let’s check in on the dramatic “Not-So-Amazing Race.”

Impeachment vs. 25th Amendment Sweepstakes Update

As we mentioned Monday, the Impeachment vs. 25th Amendment Sweepstakes is heating up. Just when you think Joe Biden will be removed for this or that high crime, he says or does something that demonstrates the 25th Amendment must be invoked. At this point, the horse race is neck-to-neck.

On Monday, the 25th Amendment pulled a nose ahead, with Joe’s latest teleprompter blunder. While giving out the URL for his new student loan forgiveness website, he read out the letters “D-O-T,” rather than saying “dot” for reportfraud.ftc.gov.

Said Biden, “If you get any questionable calls, please tell us by going to report fraud … report fraud, D-O-T, F-T-C, dot gov.”

Let’s Rumble.

But on Tuesday, Impeachment bolted into a clear lead. As Just the News reports, the Biden Family was given a $5 million interest-free forgivable loan by the Communist Chinese. (Part of the deal where “The Big Guy” Joe Biden was set to get a 10% cut.) The money was transferred to a Hunter-controlled entity in 2017. But business partner Tony Bobulinski told the FBI, and provided the documentation showing, that the money was for work done while Joe Biden was Vice President, with the payment deliberately delayed until after he left office. Sen. Chuck Grassley has released an email sent to Bobulinski about the arrangement.

So while Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden was hooked up by our Chinese foes with a $5 million payday. The word, Joe, is “C-O-M-P-R-O-M-I-S-E-D.” Using your government position for personal financial gain? I-M-P-E-A-C-H-A-B-L-E (pause to breathe) O-F-F-E-N-S-E.

This comes as even the Secretary of State admits China is “on a much faster timeline” to conquer Taiwan.

But don’t worry, we’re capable of handling a conflict in the Pacific and dealing with the Russia-Ukraine war. … Or maybe not.

US Military ‘Weak’ for the First Time, Heritage Annual Assessment Concludes

Every year since 2015, the Heritage Foundation has released an in-depth study of American military readiness. For the first time, the study concludes our military is “weak.” According to “The 2023 Index of U.S. Military Strength”:

As currently postured, the U.S. military is at growing risk of not being able to meet the demands of defending America’s vital national interests. It is rated as weak relative to the force needed to defend national interests on a global stage against actual challenges in the world as it is rather than as we wish it were. This is the logical consequence of years of sustained use, underfunding, poorly defined priorities, wildly shifting security policies, exceedingly poor discipline in program execution, and a profound lack of seriousness across the national security establishment even as threats to U.S. interests have surged.

How can they say our current national security leaders aren’t serious? Aren’t drag shows on military bases CRT seminars and tossing out thousands of service members for not taking an experimental and potentially dangerous jab signs these people are serious about protecting our country?

Fired FBI Conspirator Peter Strzok: ‘9/11 is Nothing Compared to January 6’

If the Department of Justice was clean, former FBI counter-terrorism official Peter Strzok would be rotting away in prison. Instead, he’s an MSNBC contributor paid to continue his assault on his political enemies. Monday night took the cake. Strzok actually said “9/11 is nothing compared to January 6.”

But when we you look at something that is an attack on democracy … that could actually bring about a fundamental change to American governance, as we understand it — 9/11 is nothing compared to January 6.

So grandmas and vets and dudes in Viking garb protesting what they perceived as the rigged 2020 election is worse than 9/11 … says the guy proven to have tried to rig the 2016 election.

Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day.

Forget 9/11. … Strzok’s comparison is absurd and a disgrace to the memories of the 3,000 souls lost that day. What is a worse threat to democracy? A peaceful protest where a scant percentage of attendees got out of hand? Or top U.S. government officials, from Peter Strzok to President Obama, using the full power of the U.S. government to undermine an election and then sabotage the duly elected President of the United States?

Strzok’s mistress at the time, top FBI lawyer Lisa Page, texted “POTUS wants to know everything we are doing.” And as John Durham is proving every day in court, what the FBI was doing against Trump, against the American electorate, was a heinous assault on democracy.

(The latest? Two FBI agents testified they were blocked by their superiors from investigating Clinton operative Charles Dolan’s ties to Russia and to sources for the Steele dossier. The Epoch Times has the summary. Also The Federalist’s Margot Cleveland runs down how the Danchenko case is proving beyond all shadow of a doubt the launching of Crossfire Hurricane against Trump was politically motivated.)

Biden Promises to Codify Roe if Democrats Win the Midterms

When all you’ve got is death to run on …

Joe Biden on Tuesday promised to codify a right to abortion into federal law if Democrats win the midterms. “The first bill I will send to the Congress will be to codify Roe v. Wade. And when Congress passes it, I’ll sign it in January, 50 years after Roe was first decided the law of the land.”

But good luck pinning the White House down on where Biden would set limits on abortion. On Tuesday, White House official Keisha Lance Bottoms danced around the question like it was a maypole when asked by MSNBC. Increasingly his party’s position is no limits at no time, up to birth.

Biden also took credit for same-sex marriage becoming the law of the land. Well, that’s sort of what he said.

Huh? “The right that I pushed hard and I finally got changed to marry couples in the privacy of their bedroom.”

If you listen to the clip, he is apparently moshing Supreme Court decisions … until even he jumps off his train of thought. And just like that, the 25th Amendment gains ground on Impeachment.
