Our Only Source of True Security
BETTY ROBISON — “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
Security … all of us are looking for it one way or another. We look for it in our relationships, our jobs, our social status and especially our finances.
In the very beginning of James’ and my marriage, I looked to James for affirmation in everything I did. Then came the dark years in which my confident husband struggled through layers of defeat and looked to me for strength and hope.
But I had nothing to offer. For so long, I had depended on James instead of the Lord.
I know now that God used that period in our lives to cause me to turn my focus toward Him. God was our only hope. When I ran to Him, I discovered that in His loving arms was the place I should have been all along.
God was, is and always will be the only source of real and lasting security.

Take action: Declare today: Jesus, I receive Your freedom in my life. I receive Your grace and mercy. Fear has no place here. You are my security and my confidence. Your Word is life to my body, soul and spirit.
