Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is getting plenty of heat after calling for Fox News to pull Tucker Carlson off the air for showing tapes from J6. “Censorship. It’s fantastic!”

However, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also got into the act, claiming Fox News made a “mistake” in airing footage that contradicts the official J6 narrative.

Specifically, “It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that is completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.”

The “chief law enforcement official” is the new Capitol Hill Police Chief Tom Manger who didn’t come on board until long after J6. Oh, and he answers to McConnell. (Had McConnell and Pelosi listened to the “chief law enforcement official” on J6, former Chief Steven Sund, and accepted Trump’s offer of National Guard troops, J6 wouldn’t have happened. But I digress.)

Yes. Schumer was sounding like a mob boss with his request for Fox News to pull Tucker off the air. “Nice network you got there, Rupert. Be a shame if something happened to it.” A blatant heavy hand from the same guy who openly threatened justices from the steps of the Supreme Court.

But what McConnell said may be even more insidious. He is saying it is a mistake for a news organization … and by extension, the American people … to question or challenge the view of a leading government official.

Sorry, Mitch. That’s not the way America works. We sift and weigh all the evidence and decide for ourselves.

How Well Has Trusting Leading Officials Worked Out?

Mitch’s take is particularly noxious given the new revelations about Anthony Fauci and the Wuhan Lab Theory. Questioning the wet market theory of COVID-19 origin was “completely at variance with what our chief health official in the government was saying.” And who was right? Those who suggested the Wuhan Lab Leak Theory. Worse, we now know that top official Fauci deliberately shot down the lab leak theory, most likely to protect his own culpability.

This same top official Fauci pushed mask mandates as Mike Lindell pushes pillows, even though privately he doubted their effectiveness. And a new aggregate study shows they never worked. (The masks, not the pillows. The pillows work just fine.)

For that matter, was it a “mistake” to say the Hunter laptop is real when that was “in complete variance with what 50 top former intelligence officials think”?

Again, Mitch. Americans don’t roll that way.    

Here we have ample evidence that the overarching narrative shoved down our throats since January 6 is not true. That elements of the story are blatant lies. Those lies were used to

• Shut down opposition speech.
• Lock up non-violent protesters.
• Create a whole class of political prisoners as in Stalin’s Soviet Union. And
• Prevent Americans from electing the president of their choice.

Given all those facts, presenting J6 video counter to the narrative is not a “mistake.” It is a solemn civic duty.

Speaking of which, Mitch. We’ve got a question:

What’s Wrong With Wanting Some Answers?

I know we’re just American citizens, Mitch. Not big donors. Not Washington movers-or-shakers. Not vested Chinese interests. But can you take a sec to explain these videos that weren’t part of Tucker’s presentation?

And who was Ray Epps working for anyway?

Just find out, will you? We don’t want to have to wait another two years to find another “conspiracy theory” proven true. Or for that matter, conclusively and believably disproven.

Perhaps over cocktails at a Georgetown party you can ask Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray what exactly their people did on Capitol Hill that day.

If the truth isn’t too much to ask for. If thinking and deciding for ourselves is not a “mistake.”
