I never drive in the middle lane on Trinity Boulevard. I’m content to drive in the far-right lane during my short trips to work. But Tuesday morning it was different. 

It was still dark when I backed out of my driveway. When I made my turn on the busy highway, I stayed in the middle lane. I didn’t know why. I just felt that I should. Just as I rounded a corner, I spotted someone in a wheelchair and someone walking — in the right lane. The lane in which I normally drive. Had I driven in the right lane like I normally do, I would have hit them because I only saw them at the last minute in the inky darkness.

At times I’ve wondered if God is there. Does He really see me? Does He really care about which lane I’m driving in? My small miracle from earlier this week is yet more proof that He does. God cares about the little things that could turn into disasters. He sees me even when I stub my toe! (Ps. 91:11-12) He also knows how many hairs are on my head and cares for the sparrow. How much more does he care for us! (Matt. 10:29-31) 

Do you see the small miracles in your life? Have you had moments in your life like me, where you didn’t know why you did something but it averted a problem? Or even a disaster? Embrace God’s omniscient presence in your life. Know that He protects and loves you in little ways. God cares for you intensely.

Even the lane in which you drive.
