Rubio Ad Slams Donald Trump Ahead of Florida Primary

By Published on March 14, 2016

In a last-ditch effort to win his home state, Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Marco Rubio released a video Sunday titled “Florida,” showcasing Donald Trump’s shortcomings.

The first half of the Web video shows media clips of a few of Trump’s most controversial moments on the campaign trail, with negative Florida press excerpts displayed overtop, slamming the front-runner for his “incessant bragging and name calling.”

Following the criticism of Trump, joyful music and positive clips highlight Rubio’s accomplishments in the Sunshine State,  including the Miami Herald stating “he is the best candidate to fill that role” and The Tampa Tribune saying “he can appeal to a wide spectrum of Americans.”

Rubio is currently trailing both Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz in number of delegates won. The Florida senator has only taken the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Minnesota — he will need a strong showing in his home state if he wants to remain competitive.

The Florida senator is currently trailing the business mogul by 18 points in the Sunshine State. Florida’s winner-take-all primary will take place March 15 and boasts 99 delegates.
