Ripple Effects: Faith Leaders Call for Unity, Prayer After Assassination Attempt on President Trump

In the aftermath of the horrific assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump Saturday night, faith leaders across the country have been calling for unity and prayer. They also are thanking God for protecting Trump.

Pastor Jack Graham of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, told Fox News Digital, “We are so grateful to God for His protection of President Donald Trump. The Secret Service did their job, along with law enforcement and we are appreciative.”

Graham added, “We know the hand of God was at work in this and his angels supernaturally protected Donald Trump. This is a time for Christians everywhere to pray for former President Trump and for his family as well. This is also a time to pray for our nation because we are living in perilous times.

“May God be glorified in this tragedy and triumph against all enemies of darkness. At a time like this we are not Democrats or Republicans. We are Americans praying against the evil works of darkness.”

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., also shared her grief and prayers for unity in a statement to Fox News Digital. “I grieve today for the hatred that was displayed tonight as an assassination attempt was made on the life of President Trump. I am forever grateful for the brave men and women of the Secret Service.”

King added, “My prayers are with President Trump, his family and all of America tonight! It’s time for our nation to commit itself to prayer, forgiveness, nonviolence and unity.”

Tim Clinton, president of the American Association of Christian Counselors in Lynchburg, Virginia, told Fox News Digital that he was praying for Trump and that our country needs unity.

“Now more than ever, our country needs to come together to pray, condemn these acts of violence, and be united around what has made this country great. We are crying out to God for his presence, power, and protection for our country.”

He quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Rev. Franklin Graham, CEO of Samaritan’s Purse and of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, told Fox News Digital he’s glad God spared Trump’s life.

“I join with millions of Americans and people all around the world who are thanking God that former President Donald Trump is safe. It is obvious that God’s hand of protection was on him.” He added, “As Christians, we know that the most powerful way we can fight is on our knees in prayer. God is the only hope for our nation and for us as individuals.”

Rabbi Pinchas Taylor of Florida also called for unity and prayers for Trump.

“I cannot see the recent attempted assassination of former President Trump as anything but an open miracle that has left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness,” he told Fox News Digital. He added, “[R]egardless of our political affiliations, we must stand united in condemning all forms of political violence, as such actions are a threat to the very fabric of our democracy and to the principles upon which this great nation was founded. … May this event serve as a catalyst for healing and unity, guiding us toward a future where peace and mutual respect prevail.”

Trump himself called for unity and prayers, as well.

“Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening,” he posted on X. We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness. Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed. In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin. DJT.” Eric Trump retweeted the post.

Dr. Ben Carson wrote on X, “Praying for President Trump. Praying for the future of our nation.”

Dr. Robert Jeffress posted on X, “The attempted assassination of President @realDonaldTrump is evidence of the reality of evil in the world. We thank God for protecting the life of this courageous leader who is a warrior for truth and the friend of Christians everywhere.”

Man Prophesied Three Months Ago That Trump Would Get Shot, Injuring Ear

Over three months ago Brandon Biggs made a stunning prediction. He predicted that Donald Trump would be the target of an assassination attempt and have an ear injury as a result of the attack. “I saw Trump rising up, and then I saw an attempt on his life,” Biggs told Steve Cioccolanti of Discover Ministries. “This bullet flew by his ear, and it came so close to his head that it busted his drum eardrum. And I saw … he fell to his knees during this timeframe, and he started worshiping the Lord. He got radically born again during this timeframe.”

Many other Charismatic leaders have been calling people to pray for Trump’s safety over the last few months because they had a sense from the Lord that an attempt would be made on his life.

Prayers on Hallow App Increases Sharply After Assassination Attempt on President Trump

The prayer app called Hallow saw a sharp increase in prayers following the assassination attempt on President Trump, Fox News Digital reported Monday.

Hallow CEO and cofounder Alex Jones told Fox News Digital that the app launched a new feature called “prayer campaigns” just before the July 4th weekend. “The hope was to give folks a chance to come together in prayer and create specific campaigns for their personal intentions and requests,” Jones said.

Jones couldn’t believe the response. “We’ve seen thousands of campaigns created by people all over the world — for folks who have lost loved ones, young children who are sick, men and women discerning religious life, and so many more.” Hallow has had more than 20 million downloads since its inception in 2018.

Jones said after Trump’s assassination attempt at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania Saturday, the app saw “dozens and dozens of prayer campaigns created by folks from all around the country to pray for his health and safety, his family, the other victims and the country at large.”

According to a Hallow spokesperson, the app “offers a respite from [politics],” but both Democrats and Republicans have unified in prayer after the assassination attempt.

Actor Jonathan Roumie (The Chosen) and Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg (Lone Survivor) lead some of the prayer campaigns. Both are pitchmen for Hallow.

Jones believes in the power of prayer, and this spike in prayers on Hallow reaffirms his beliefs. “We think it has the ability to change the world, to save lives, heal wounds and, even in a world that constantly seeks to divide, to bring us together.

“Regardless of your political background, we can all come together to pray.”

Please continue to pray with us for President Trump’s safety, healing for the two people who were critically injured in the shooting, and comfort for the families of Cory Comperatore and Thomas Matthew Crooks. While Comperatore was an innocent victim and Crooks was the 20-year-old would-be assassin, taken out by a sharpshooter after firing nearly a dozen rounds, both families are grieving their losses while trying to make sense of what has taken place.
