On the eve of the final Sunday before the 2016 Presidential Election, the Republican nominee for vice president has posted a video sharing his testimony and encouraging believers to pray for the nation.

Gov. Mike Pence’s address begins with his oft-repeated declaration: “I’m a Christian, a conservative and a Republican — in that order.” Pence says he’s relied on his Christian faith more times than he can remember and, likewise, God has been a source of renewal and strength for the United States and people of faith throughout its history.

He notes that the pulpits have had a great impact on the United States during our most tumultuous times and asks churches to pray for the country, quoting 2 Chronicles 7:14: “[I]f my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
