Protect the Children Part 6: How to Rate Your School Board Members to Determine Strategy

By John Amanchukwu Published on May 31, 2024

This is Part 6 of a 14-part series on how to confront leftist indoctrination in your child’s school. If you want to be part of the parental revolution, this series will help you learn how to reorient school systems back toward biblical ethics to ensure our kids can safely learn, grow, and be nurtured in environments that prioritize knowledge over dogma, truth over lies, and virtue over vice.

One of the most important methods for assessing the composition of your school board and determining whether it is amenable to the concerns of the parent movement is a rating system.

This system ranks each school board member on a scale of 1 to 5 to determine whether they share the concerns of parents and citizens over divisive concepts and radical ideologies in K-12 schools. You should make this rating system available to your support network to understand who to engage, who to pressure, and who to remove.

A “1” Rating: This individual presents the least amount of resistance to concerns over content and curricula in the school system. This is likely a concerned parent who either sought office to fight for his or her children, or who may have been a parental advocate before being elected or appointed to the board. Recommended Action: Engagement

A “2” Rating: This individual mostly agrees with concerned parents about radical concepts and material in the schools, but is not necessarily inclined to lead the fight. This is likely a parent or well-respected member of the community who desires to do the right thing, but is a follower  rather than a leader. Recommended Action: Engagement

A “3” Rating: This individual mostly views the job as an important part of his or her contribution to the community. He or she may be apolitical, or moderate on hot-button cultural issues. This board member is agnostic on certain political fights, or prefers to avoid them altogether if possible. He or she seeks to please, and will only move in a particular direction if it is the will of the broader community. Statistically, this is the most common type of school board member. Recommended Action: Pressure

A “4” Rating: This individual mostly agrees with divisive concepts like CRT and radical gender theory, but also fears being caught up in a public political battle with concerned parents. He or she is likely someone who believes in using K-12 institutions to shape children as they see fit, but does not want to be held accountable. This board member limits his or her engagement with public speakers, quietly tries to keep parents in check, and seeks to fly under the radar. Recommended Action: Removal

A “5” Rating: This individual presents the most resistance to concerns over content and curricula. He or she is likely someone who publicly supports divisive concepts like CRT and radical gender theory, or has had a hand in developing or peddling DEI infrastructure in a  previous role. This is the board member who shuts off microphones, removes speakers from meetings, and touts progressive positions as proof of their own righteousness. Recommended Action: Removal

The Composition of the School Board

The overall composition of the school board will determine your particular course of action.

For example, a school board comprised mostly or entirely of 1s and 2s is mostly friendly to parents. Engage with them regularly and thoughtfully to ensure continued vigilance over content and curricula. These boards rarely require aggressive action; they just need maintenance and support to move policies in the appropriate direction.

A school board comprised mostly or entirely of 3s, 4s, and 5s is essentially at war with parents and is actively trying to corrupt children. You must constantly pressure them with very specific demands. Failure to meet your demands to remove divisive concepts, woke programs, or ban sexually inappropriate material must result in concerted campaigns to remove the board members.

This rating system will help you determine the relative level of engagement and pressure needed to implement policies that protect children and thwart the radical ideologies destroying your community.
