President-Elect Donald Trump Monday released a video message to the American people in which he discussed intended policy plans for his first 100 days in office. Trump stated that his agenda was simple as he worked through his period of transition with his team: putting America first. He wants production and innovation previously taking place in other countries to come home to America, which he says will create jobs for American workers.

The President-Elect said that he and his transition team have developed a list of executive actions he can implement on “day one,” to restore laws and bring back jobs. Trump listed the following executive actions that he plans to implement on his first day in office:

  • Issue a “Notification of Intent” to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which he calls a “potential disaster” for the U.S. As an alternative, Trump plans to “negotiate fair, bilateral trade deals that bring jobs and industry back onto American shores.”
  • Cancel restrictions on American energy, including shale energy and clean coal. Trump says this will create millions of high-paying jobs.
  • Reduce regulations by eliminating two regulations for every new regulation implemented.
  • Ask the Department of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to “develop a comprehensive plan” to protect America’s infrastructure from cyber and any other attacks.
  • Direct Department of Labor to investigate all abuses of Visa programs that “undercut” the American worker.
  • Impose a 5-year ban on executive officials becoming lobbyists after they leave the Trump administration and a lifetime ban on executive officials becoming lobbyists for other countries.

Trump ended his message by promising an update in the near future as the transition progresses and stating that he was working to “Make America Great Again” for everyone. He added, “And I mean everyone.”
