New CMP Video: Planned Parenthood Did Not Pay Shipping Costs to Transmit Baby Body Parts
Abortion giant claims money it got from baby body part sales was simply 'reimbursement' for 'shipping costs'. It didn't pay shipping costs.
Planned Parenthood is lying when it claims it doesn’t get paid for baby body parts, only “reimbursed” for shipping costs to send aborted babies to researchers. It had no shipping costs. Or so we learn in the latest Center for Medical Progress video released today.
Planned Parenthood executives have claimed the money they received for baby body parts was for shipping them to researchers across the country. “There are shipping costs,” said Dawn Laguens, Planned Parenthood’s Executive Vice President to CNN. Cecile Richards, Planned Parenthood CEO, told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos the same thing. “It’s not a fee. It’s actually just the cost of transmitting this material to research institutions.”
In an interview with CMP founder David Daleiden, former StemExpress procurement specialist Holly O’Donnell said that StemExpress shipped all the baby body parts, not Planned Parenthood. “Planned Parenthood never shipped anything. We did all the shipping.” Invoices support O’Donnell’s statement — StemExpress was paid for shipping costs, not Planned Parenthood.
O’Donnell said that some of the staff at clinics knew what was going on. One medical assistant deliberately threw away baby body parts. When O’Donnell took the issue to her supervisor, the supervisor quickly rectified the situation. “They were getting compensated for the tissue,” O’Donnell explained. Daleiden clarified, “StemExpress was paying [Planned Parenthood] for the fetal tissue?” “Exactly, exactly” replied O’Donnell. “I’m pretty sure that was what was going on, that’s why [the supervisor] got so upset, like, ‘Hey, we need this money, we’re losing money here you need to let them get the samples, we’re getting paid for this.'”
The former procurement supervisor told Daleiden that they were paying per “specimen.” “Sarah knew,” he said. “Sarah was the first one who told me … that they were actually paying the clinics per specimen, they weren’t renting space, they weren’t reimbursing the cost of how many paper towels it cost to clean up the path lab or something. At the end of the day, they were paying for the number of fetal specimens they could get.”
Daleiden said StemExpress lawyers told him they were only getting paid per abortion, but O’Donnell said that wasn’t the case. “I don’t believe that was true, because we as procurement technicians got our bonuses paid on organ, not abortion.”
