Making a Killing: Planned Parenthood’s President’s Salary DOUBLED to Almost $1 Million
The president of Planned Parenthood doubled her salary to almost $1 million in 2014, according to tax forms.
The organization’s IRS Form 990 reveals that Cecile Richards made $957,952 during the 2014 fiscal year, reports Life News. Richards made close to $600,000 in salary in 2013, which represented a $67,000 increase from the previous year. Richards made $523,616 in 2012, while only making $420,153 in 2011. Her salary for 2009 was approximately $353,000.
Richards was brought before Congress in 2015 to testify on the sting videos released by the Center for Medical Progress. The videos alleged that Planned Parenthood profited off the sales of fetal tissues.
The hearings on the videos went badly for Republicans who were seen as attacking Richards, while Richards came out of them unscathed. House Democrats accused House Republicans of misogyny and discrimination when they questioned Richard’s annual salary. The media praised Richards during the hearings, claiming that she “embarrassed a GOP rep” and “shut down GOP chair over abortion chart.”
Richards recently campaigned for Clinton at the University of Central Florida, telling the audience that Clinton is “ready to be President the moment she walks into the Oval office.”
Clinton herself previously expressed admiration for Richards and Planned Parenthood at an event organized by the same.
“I want to thank my friend and your courageous leader,” Clinton began. “Cecile is the definition of grace under pressure. She has proven that time and time again over the course her career, in particularly over the last few years.”
