New Video: Ex-Clinic Worker Explains in Grisly Detail How Planned Parenthood Profits from the Sale of Fetal Organs
A whistleblower who harvested aborted baby parts comes clean about her traumatic job.
The latest video exposing Planned Parenthood isn’t just an undercover lunch conversation; it’s a first-person interview with a clinic worker who knows exactly what she’s doing as she explains Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted fetal body parts. What this “procurement technician” describes in the video is grisly, and the profit motive for Planned Parenthood inescapable.
The new video is the first in a documentary series by the Center for Medical Progress, Human Capital, which features expert interviews, eyewitness accounts and undercover interactions to tell the story of Planned Parenthood’s commercial exploitation of aborted fetal tissue. Here’s episode 1, “Planned Parenthood’s Black Market in Baby Parts” (Warning: This video features images of aborted children’s body parts in a lab.):
It opens with Holly O’Donnell, a licensed phlebotomist who took a job as a “procurement technician” with the now-infamous fetal tissue company and biotech start-up StemExpress in late 2012. (As their website says, start with the source.)
“I thought I was going to be just drawing blood, not procuring tissue from aborted fetuses,” says O’Donnell. She also reports fainting in shock on her first day of work in a Planned Parenthood clinic when she was told to dissect a freshly aborted fetus during her on-the-job training. “I remember grabbing the leg … the moment I picked it up I could just feel death and pain. I’ve never felt that before. I could feel it shoot up through my body and I started to, I blacked out, basically … I remember leaving that day, thinking what have I gotten myself into?”
“We’re asked to procure certain tissues like brain, liver, thymus, pancreas, heart, lungs, skin, pretty much anything on the fetus. It’s basically the trafficking of fetal tissues.”
“They weren’t looking for a compassionate individual … they wanted someone who could get the numbers up … the owner [of StemExpress] is making a lot of money based off the poor girls who half the time don’t even want to get abortions. It’s a pretty sick company.”
For six months, O’Donnell’s job was to identify pregnant women at Planned Parenthood who met criteria for fetal tissue orders and to harvest the fetal body parts after their abortions. What O’Donnell has to say about Planned Parenthood’s profit motives decisively contradicts every defense Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards has come up with in denying these charges for the past two weeks. O’Donnell explains:
For whatever we could procure, they would get a certain percentage. The main nurse was always trying to make sure we got our specimens. No one else really cared, but the main nurse did because she knew that Planned Parenthood was getting compensated.
As if that weren’t damning enough, this video also includes new admissions from top-level Planned Parenthood leadership about the illicit pricing structure.
Dr. Savita Ginde is Vice President and Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) in Denver. (Lest any coastal elites assume this is a backwater, PPRM is one of the largest and wealthiest Planned Parenthood affiliates and operates clinics in the Mountain West.) Standing in the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic pathology laboratory, where the bodies of aborted fetuses are brought, Ginde coolly calculates how payment per organ removed from a fetus will be the most beneficial to Planned Parenthood:
I think a per-item thing works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it.
Remember: the sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2).
There are more grim revelations in the new video, alas. Dr. Katherine Sheehan, Medical Director emerita of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest in San Diego, describes her affiliate’s long-time relationship with another fetal tissue procurement company, Advanced Bioscience Resources. They’ve been providing aborted fetal organs since 1989:
We’ve been using them for over ten years, really a long time, you know, just kind of renegotiated the contract. They’re doing the big government-level collections and things like that.
“Big government-level collections.” Imagine how many people are involved in these contracts, in the trafficking of human body parts. The size and scope of this trafficking operation may become its downfall, as the Center for Medical Progress’s David Daleiden explains:
Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby parts is an offensive and horrifying reality that is widespread enough for many people to be available to give first-person testimony about it. As numerous state and federal investigations of Planned Parenthood’s fetal trafficking continue, more compelling eyewitness accounts and primary source evidence will continue to surface. There should be an immediate moratorium on Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding while Congress and the states determine the full extent of the organization’s lawbreaking.
Stay tuned for more as the story develops.
