The January 6 Anniversary

We want to start by acknowledging yesterday’s historic anniversary. Not the Capitol Riot, but, of course, the first recorded boxing match. It was arranged January 6, 1681 by Christopher Monck, 2nd Duke of Albemarle, and featured his butler versus his butcher.

I have to ask. Did the butcher train by pounding slabs of meat like that underdog champ from Philly?

As for yesterday’s Riot anniversary, we’ve got my commentary on Joe Biden targeting Trump. Dr. Michael Brown also offered up his reflections on January 6: “A Tragic Day in American History, But Not an Insurrection.”

Mass. Governor Blames Trump for Death of Capitol Officer … Killed by Black Nationalist

How do we know they know just what a con job yesterday’s January 6 charade was? In his statement on the J6 anniversary, the Governor of Massachusetts blamed Donald Trump for the death of a Capitol police officer. Oh, not an officer who died on January 6. No officers died in the Capitol Riot.

That’s a media-Democrat fiction. Gov. Charlie Baker is blaming Trump for the death of Capitol Police Officer William Evans … who died three months after Trump left office.

And was killed by a Black Nationalist and Louis Farrakhan devotee named Noah Green who had slammed into barricades then attacked officers with a knife. The Federalist has the full story.

Add this to Russia Collusion, Charlottesville hoax, the Ukraine impeachment, and on and on. If Trump is really so bad why do they have to keep making up stuff?

The J6 Vigil Organized By the Woman Who Tried to Destroy Trump’s Inaugural

A candlelight vigil was held last night on the National Mall to “remember the attack on Democracy that occurred Jan. 6.” One problem. According to The Federalist, it was organized by the same “Antifa-affiliated woman who planned disruptions for the inaugurations of both President George W. Bush and President Donald Trump.” Her name’s Liz Butler.

She also co-founded the group that terrorized Sen. Josh Hawley’s wife and newborn over Hawley’s questioning of the 2020 election results.

Butler’s “Antifa scumbags”, in Hawley’s words, “screamed threats, vandalized, and tried to pound open our door” at his home in D.C. on January 5, 2021. The night before January 6. The night before Hawley was set to follow his constitutional duty and challenge electors from a disputed swing state.

Yes, America, here we have threatening violence to stop the business of congress. Organized radicals. Has Butler been charged? Has she been languishing in prison for a year without bail, without trial?  No, because actual domestic terrorists don’t even get a slap on the wrist from this regime. They get a pat on the back and a fancy gig.

Rep. Luria is using what Democrats insist is the worst moment in America since 9/11 … since Pearl Harbor … since the Civil War … as a platform for relaunching her re-election campaign.

A simple call to action for the people of Luria’s Virginia Beach district. Elect a serious person seriously concerned about the serious problems you are facing.

Supreme Court Will Hear Arguments Over Biden’s Private Company Vaccine Mandate Friday

Joe Biden is trying to force private companies with over 100 employees to force their employees to be vaccinated or be tested weekly. Or else. He’s (mis)using OSHA’s emergency powers to do so. Lower courts have generally, but not universally, found the mandate unconstitutional. Ridiculously unconstitutional. Now it’s in the hands of the Supreme Court. The Court will be hearing oral arguments today.

What Biden wants with this unconscionable Federal power grab is a much greater threat to our system of government than anything that happened January 6.

Biden Admin Blocks New Natural Gas Plant as Energy Prices Soar

You in New England? Your energy costs soaring? Well, the White House is here to shove your face in the snow. The Biden Administration has just blocked construction of a new natural gas power plant that would have powered half-a-million homes in Connecticut.

Environmental groups have been pushing hard against the plant, saying the plant would “make it impossible to meet Connecticut’s goals to address the climate crisis.” Sierra Club Connecticut called the decision to ax the plant “a bit of cheer as we start the New Year.”

Huh? Jill Biden Gets Her Own Walk-In Theme?

I know Jill Biden is the new Edith Wilson, but does she have a bit of Eva Peron in her as well? Crazy story. You know how presidents are greeted with “Hail to the Chief” by the U.S. Marine Band whenever he enters for an official event?

According to Becket Adams of the Washington Examiner, the White House commissioned the Marine Corp band to compose an original entrance song for Dr. Jill. It’s called “Fanfare for the First Lady.”

A source tells Adams the band was “rushed” to come up with the fanfare. Music critics might snicker, “It shows.”

Jill Biden’s press secretary Michael LaRosa insists that “The first lady does not have a song anybody has written for her specifically. The White House asked nobody, not one person, to compose an exclusive entry song, or any song, for the first lady.”

In fact, LaRosa says the Marine Band came to them with the proposal.

Perhaps. But consider that the Marine Band has been around since 1798. Is this really the first time in 223 years they thought to have a specific entrance theme for the first lady?

Also, LaRosa using words like “specifically” and “exclusively” sounds dodgy. If future first ladies can use it then it is not specifically and exclusively for Jill Biden, is it?

Further, these are the same people who invented something called the “Office of the President-Elect.” They also used the FBI to fetch their daughter’s diary, why wouldn’t they use the Marines to give Jill her own fanfare?

And, let’s be real. A woman who is not a medical doctor, but insists on being called “Dr. Jill Biden” … a woman who tweets a picture of herself behind Joe’s desk on Air Force One going through briefing books … is just the sort of person who’d demand her own fanfare.

Of course, if Jill’s really the one running the show, maybe she needs one.

By the way, if Melania Trump had her own entrance music, would it be “Hot Hot Hot”? I ask respectfully.

Along The Stream

Last night, in time for Epiphany, we published something very, very special for The Stream. It’s called “Journey of the Nauts.” An amazing work of allegory and apologetics disguised as a great little sci-fi story. Yes, science fiction!
