Praise God: Missing Idaho Man Found Alive Under Pick-Up Truck

A 21-year-old man, thought to be dead after several days missing, was miraculously found pinned beneath his truck in Idaho Falls.

ABC News reported the discovery took place Tuesday night around 7:45 p.m. local time. Firefighters and local law enforcement dispatched to the area in response to a phone call about an overturned truck half a mile from the road.

The man had been partially ejected and pinned beneath the vehicle after rolling into a ravine, according to ABC News. The Idaho Falls Fire Department and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office had reported the man missing several days before in a joint report. He remains unnamed so far.

A Difficult Rescue

The area presented some complications for rescue, since it had no cell phone reception or radio service. Rescuers sent a small rescue truck to the scene since a full size ambulance couldn’t fit on the road above. The crashed truck was laying on its side in a narrow creek bed, reported the Idaho Statesman. Additionally, firefighters had to employ heavy extrication equipment to remove the man from the truck.

Despite having been alone in this desperate state for several days, officials say the victim of the crash was “conscious and talking to rescuers,” said the Idaho Statesman.

Medics treated him on the scene and flew him to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in stable condition.
