This special military photo of the day is actually a combination of two images that show visits to Afghanistan by the two commanders-in-chief to oversee America’s longest war.

The photo to the left, taken by Spc. Mary Gonzalez, shows President George W. Bush speaking to service members at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan on Dec. 15, 2008. It was President Bush’s last visit to Afghanistan as commander-in-chief.

The image to the right, taken by Bill Gowdy, shows President Barack Obama during a separate visit to Bagram Air Field. President Obama met with U.S. troops there on May 2, 2012.
