“Gunner Readies: Marine Lance Corporal E. M. Donaldson, 19 (Columbia, Illinois), of Marine Observation Squadron 2 [VMO-2] simulates clearing a jam in one of the external guns on a UH-1E gun ship. ‘You must be ready for any emergency and I practice until clearing a gun is as easy as breathing,’ says Donaldson (official USMC photo by Gunnery Sergeant Golden Pase).”
