Military Photo of the Day: December 7, 2015

By Tom Sileo Published on December 7, 2015

The USS Arizona burns during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. According to the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, 1,177 USS Arizona crew members were killed, which marked “the greatest loss of life on any U.S. warship in American history.”

74 years after Pearl Harbor, we honor the 2,403 Americans killed in the sneak attack on Hawaii. Every day, we salute the heroes of the Greatest Generation, along with all Americans to put on our nation’s uniform.
