Michelle Obama, This is My Own Voice

By Jennifer Hartline Published on September 29, 2017

Michelle Obama recently made a statement that is astounding in its smug, elitist condescension. Apparently, I, along with millions of other women, don’t like my own voice. I like the thing I’m told to like.

Because I did not vote for Hillary Clinton.

CNN reports:

In candid remarks Wednesday, former first lady Michelle Obama said women who voted for Republican nominee Donald Trump over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton went against their “authentic voice” in the 2016 presidential election.

“Any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their own voice,” she said at the Inbound 2017 conference in Boston, according to video from inside the event.

“What does it mean for us as women that we look at those two candidates, as women, and many of us said, that guy, he’s better for me, his voice is more true to me,” Obama said. “Well, to me that just says you don’t like your voice. You like the thing you’re told to like.”

I’m just a mindless slave who is mute out of disdain for my own voice. I don’t know what I like until someone else β€” no doubt a man β€” tells me what I like.

Your “Voice” is Most Definitely Not Mine

Mrs. Obama, how can I say this simply… keep your haughty remarks to yourself, thanks.

I’m so tired of leftist women telling me I’ve betrayed myself and other women by not falling in line with the liberal, leftist agenda. That’s what this is really about.

Even ceiling-smashing female governors, senators, ambassadors and cabinet members are going against their “authentic voice” if they are not liberal Democrats. Conservative and Republican women have curiously achieved nothing for womankind, and are not worthy of any recognition or support from the rest of the female population. But liberal Democrat women are owed the unconditional, unquestioning loyalty of every other female in America.

You and Hillary Clinton do not speak for me. Your “voice” is most definitely not mine. I know my own mind well, and I have never been reluctant to use my voice. You simply cannot conceive that I would dare use that voice to speak against your secular, liberal feminist, political agenda. If I don’t cheer for the woman on the ticket, it can only be because some man has brainwashed me into doing his bidding, right?

Wrong. As a voter, I judged Hillary Clinton on her own merits, or rather, severe lack thereof. Her sex was irrelevant. What mattered was she had proven herself to be a habitual liar, and on the most serious matters. She’d shown herself to be less honorable, less trustworthy than her cheating husband.

As far as I’m concerned, she earned a prison cell. She betrayed this nation and the men and women who serve with their lives. There was no way in the world I would have rewarded her duplicity and incompetence by giving her even more political power and authority.

I evaluated Hillary as a candidate and rejected her based on policy, not her gender.

Pro-Abortion is Not Pro-Woman

As a woman, I reject wholeheartedly the pro-abortion policies you and Mrs. Clinton seek to enforce on the nation.

I have heard you and Mrs. Clinton loud and clear, and I reject what you stand for and what you hoped to accomplish.

I utterly reject the inhuman cruelty of killing the child in the womb. I reject the ridiculous notion that women cannot be free, successful, happy or healthy if they do not have the “choice” to kill their babies.

I absolutely disdain the euphemisms about “reproductive rights” and “women’s health care” and “equality.” I prefer to speak in honest, candid terms.

I refuse to ever support the greedy, deceitful, barbaric practices of Planned Parenthood and every other abortion mill in the nation. I reject the propaganda that portrays Planned Parenthood as a benevolent, heroic provider of care for women. You may choose to be blind, but I am not. After all, “clumps of tissue” aren’t worth a dime, but those intact calvariums and hearts and livers are very profitable.

I reject the vision of “comprehensive access to free birth control” for every woman and young girl that you and Hillary Clinton champion. I believe my daughters need and deserve much more than a sexual philosophy that sneers at abstinence and chastity, teaches them to resent their own fertility, and then to view the child in the womb as a terrorist threat.

I have heard you and Mrs. Clinton loud and clear, and I reject what you stand for and what you hoped to accomplish because I vehemently disagree with you.

Believe Me, I Know What I Believe

I believe in the sacredness of human life from conception to natural death. I know abortion is the greatest human rights crime in history. We will one day be held to account for every child we have slaughtered in the name of “choice.”

I believe in the objective reality of the human person, created male and female. I believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, for life, for the benefit of their children. I believe in the fundamental rights of children, not in the wants and whims of adults.

I realize you find my voice intolerable, but I assure you, it is indeed my own, authentic voice.

I have great appreciation for true masculinity and true femininity. I believe the God-given complementary natures of man and woman are given us as a gift to one another, and being equal in dignity does not mean sameness in all things.

I believe in the freedom of religion, not the freedom of “worship.” I believe no one should be compelled to provide services for or participate in events that contradict their faith, or punished for refusing to do so. That is un-American, unconstitutional and morally wrong.

It’s ironic that you said, “Part of our legacy is leaving with grace, is being humble and diplomatic,” since your remarks about women like me were lacking in all three. I realize you find my voice intolerable, but I assure you, it is indeed my own, authentic voice.

You can also be sure that, until the day I die, I will not hesitate to use my voice.
