Joy Break: Kansas City Chiefs Fans, Inspired by Buffalo Bills Fans, Donate to Hospital in Buffalo

Kansas City Chiefs fans celebrate after the win.
When we turn on our televisions or smart phones we are bombarded with news that brings us down. Where are all the good stories? They’re still there. Here’s one that we hope will bless you.
Last Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs won over the Buffalo Bills in overtime 42-36. It was a devastating loss for the Bills as Chiefs quarterback Mahomes won on the first drive of overtime. Because of a coin toss that didn’t go their way, the Bills didn’t have much of a chance.
Inspiring Fans to Donate to Charity
Bills Mafia, a Bills fan base that raises money for charity, inspired fans of Kansas City Chiefs to donate money β not to Mahomes’ charity, but to the Bills’ charity: Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York. The Chiefs fans donated in increments of $13 β in honor of the 13 seconds it took the Chiefs to tie up the game on Sunday.
The donations began pouring in after the Chiefs Kingdom Facebook groups challenged their fans to donate. The Facebook post said, “Suggesting all Chiefs fans donate $13 to [Bills QB] Josh Allen’s foundation to commemorate the drive that tied the game with just 13 seconds left and the best playoff game in Chiefs history.”
It went on to say, “Out of HUGE respect for Josh Allen, I’m donating $13 to his foundation which supports the Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. Hope some of ya’ll join this too.”
As of Friday morning, the Chiefs fans raised $404,000 for the hospital.
