Joy Break: At 100 years old, Seamstress Makes Dresses for Needy Children

By Nancy Flory Published on September 19, 2017

Our TVs and smart phones bombard us with news that brings us down. Where has all the good news gone? Those stories are still there. Here’s one that we hope will brighten your day.

Eva Bossenberger is proof that no one is too young or too old to do what God has asked them to do. Eva is 100 years old, but gets up each morning between 2-4 a.m. to sew dresses for little girls across the world who need them.

Last year Eva’s pastor asked her to make 180 “somethings” for girls that could be put in an Operation Christmas Child shoebox, reported Samaritan’s Purse. Since she’s sewn since childhood, Eva decided to make dresses. “At first it took me a day and a half to make a dress,” she said. “Now, I can get three done in a day.” She loves the work she does.

“The Lord gave me hands with no arthritis. I’m doing what the Lord has asked me to do.”
