J.K. Rowling Faces Down the Demons and Wins. Go Ye Therefore and Do Likewise
When we started out writing this column, we thought it quite likely weβd have to illustrate it with a stock photo of a woman in an orange jump suit. The brilliantly creative novelist J.K. Rowling (of Harry Potter fame) exhibits the moral and civic courage that once made Britain great. And it put her at risk of prison time. Thatβs how the regimes of the Great Reset roll: they want to βbuild back betterβ all across the world, minus our God-given rights and human dignity.
Rowling has for years faced down vicious hate, boycotts, and violent threats from unhinged men in wigs and phony boobs for insisting that women really exist and have specific, real-world rights. Now at last it appeared that the law itself was coming for her, in the form of a fascist βhate speechβ law just passed in Scotland. It threatens jail time for verbal expressions of biological truths and Christian doctrine about Creation, if βtransβ activists find such βhateful.β
Leviathan Caved for Once
Instead of caving in, reversing herself, falling silent or fleeing, Rowling faced down the demons that have driven her fellow citizens thundering into the sea. She issued a mighty tweet storm specifically designed to test the new draconian law, highlighting violently misogynistic βtransβ women and stating explicitly the fact that they are males. Unsavory as the subject matter is, itβs worth the readerβs time.
Scotland’s Hate Crime Act comes into effect today. Women gain no additional protections, of course, but well-known trans activist Beth Douglas, darling of prominent Scottish politicians, falls within a protected category. Phew! 1/11 pic.twitter.com/gCKGwdjr5m

Rowling tested the law by listing 10 trans women, including a convicted rapist, sex abusers and high profile activists, on X and saying they were men.
“Freedom of speech and belief are at an end in Scotland if the accurate description of biological sex is deemed criminal,” she said.
And we expected that by now Rowling very well might be in handcuffs or in a cell. The left in Britain as in the U.S. is completely in thrall to the fantasy-based trans ideology which has perfectly possessed our elites. There is no new scientific evidence or psychological insight behind the sudden explosion of belief in 47 genders; itβs seemingly inexplicable, except in darkly spiritual terms as a contagion of evil, akin to the eruptions of genocidal hatred in countries like Cambodia and Rwanda.
Rowling doesnβt just write about wizards confronting the forces of unhinged hatred. She does it herself in real life β and weβre really delighted to report that for the moment she has won. As BBC reports:
Social media comments made by JK Rowling challenging Scotland’s new hate crime law are not being treated as criminal, Police Scotland has said.
The Harry Potter author described several transgender women as men, including convicted prisoners, trans activists and other public figures.
The new law creates a new crime of “stirring up hatred” relating to protected characteristics.
The force said complaints had been received but no action would be taken.
Reacting to the news, Ms Rowling posted on X: βI hope every woman in Scotland who wishes to speak up for the reality and importance of biological sex will be reassured by this announcement, and I trust that all women – irrespective of profile or financial means – will be treated equally under the law.β
Translation: Rowling hopes that women who arenβt multimillionaires with access to the best barristers on earth also get to keep their right to basic free speech. Given the spunk and principle she has shown so far, we wouldnβt be surprised if she offers support to the βlittle fishβ who get caught up in the trans cultβs net of coercion, harassment, and violence. (Donβt forget how many recent mass shooters in the U.S. have turned out to be addled by trans ideology.
Are We Real Christians, or Collaborators?
Rowling was willing to face the real risk of imprisonment, and has endured unspeakable hatred and abuse, standing up for the defenseless β such as non-violent female prisoners suddenly forced to share cells and showers with biologically male rapists. How many of us would do the same?
Thatβs a sobering question we need to ask ourselves. How far will we go? Will we face vicious ostracism and shaming (as John did while running the pro-life paper at Yale)? How about outright arrest (as Jason was subject to when he protested the lawless COVID lockdowns)? Many of our fellow Americans are enduring much, much worse.
Youβve read about the relentless lawfare targeting Donald Trump. Itβs less likely that you know about what the left is doing to his one-time legal advisor on the 2020 election, eminent scholar (and devout Catholic) John Eastman. A column at The Blaze by two of Eastmanβs children tells his heart-wrenching story. Here are a few snippets β but go read the whole thing and find a way to help this brave American:
John Eastman is the greatest threat to the far leftβs regime of anarcho-tyranny. This regime unleashes violent criminals on our streets, extends bail to serial rapists, and releases illegal aliens who commit criminal acts. But if a conservative lawyer dares to provide legal counsel to a sitting U.S. president, his livelihood and reputation will be destroyed with the full force of government and other institutions infected by the βwokeβ virus. β¦
Eastman became a widely recognized public figure after his speech at the Ellipse on January 6 and for authoring what became known as the βEastman memos,β internal brainstorming documents in which he laid out numerous scenarios for consideration in efforts to combat the massive instances of illegality that his investigations had revealed in the 2020 election. β¦
Since Eastmanβs appearance at the Ellipse, he has endured three years of malicious lawsuits, bar complaints, subpoenas, and testimony before the House January 6 committee.
These include criminal charges. Eastman β alongside President Trump and 17 other βco-conspiratorsβ β was indicted with absurd and unprecedented racketeering charges in Georgia by a rogue district attorney, Fani Willis, who appears to have committed perjury while testifying under oath about the details of her affair with the prosecutor she hired for the RICO case.
Holy Week brought a new set of horrors. An action we foresaw based on the predictable conclusion of lawfare was taken Wednesday that shook two centuries of American jurisprudence to its core. After what one commentator has described as the longest (32 days of trial over 10 weeks), most expensive (more than half a million dollars) bar trial in this countryβs history, a bar court judge who has continued to make donations to Democrat politicians even after taking the bench has recommended the disbarment of Eastman.
So Many Victims, So Little Time
What about Roger Stone, raided by FBI SWAT agents and throw in prison? Mike Flynn, falsely prosecuted by a Deep State desperate to continue its coup against an elected president? Or the hundreds of non-violent January 6 defendants convicted in politicized trials before biased juries and sentenced to outrageous terms in prison β such as our friend Nicholas Ochs?
Think of the doctors and biologists who saw their careers destroyed for resisting the murderous lockdowns and the untested, abortion-derived COVID vaccine that states were forcing into our arms.
Think of innocent, ordinary citizens chewed up in the gears of our elites, from the farmers protesting government land-grabs in Europe, to pro-lifers sentenced to long prison terms in Washington, D.C., for exposing illegal late term abortions.
The Great Reset is an inhuman, authoritarian program that aims to crush us all. But it canβt win if enough of us are willing to risk everything, to stand in front of the tanks and stand alongside the persecuted. Thatβs how the Christians conquered Rome.
They canβt imprison us all.
