INTERVIEW: Shannon Bream on Her New Book, The Love Stories of the Bible Speak and What Her Faith Means to Her
Fox News anchor and best-selling author Shannon Bream spoke with The Stream’s Nancy Flory about her newest book, The Love Stories of the Bible Speak: Biblical Lessons on Romance, Friendship, and Faith. Shannon has already released two previous books in the series: Women of the Bible Speak and Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak.
In this interview, Shannon discusses the different types of love in the Bible: Agape, Philia and Eros. “We thought, ‘Okay, there’s a lot to mine there. … We can still pull a lot from those stories, a lot of important principles about relationships. … There’s a lot to talk about when it comes to love in the Bible.”
The Love Stories of the Bible Speak can be used as a devotional as well. “People can do this as a group or with friends,” says Shannon. The book offers biblical insight through Scriptures and provides prayer prompts. The previous books in the series have study guides and the study guide for The Love Stories of the Bible Speak will be released soon.
“Most importantly, I want them to see that the entire Bible is God’s love story to us. I mean, there’s so many stories of redemption β Old and New Testaments. … To me, what I hope at the end of the day people get is that the entire Bible is a love story about God’s pursuit for us.”
