I Won’t Shop for Shampoo or Prescriptions at Abortion Clinics, Which CVS and Rite-Aid Now Are

By John Zmirak Published on February 25, 2023

As the culture thunders over the cliff like a herd of Gadarene swine, it’s easy to feel helpless. But there are things we can do. We don’t have to rush toward the cliff, just because our neighbors are running that way. Even if we are part way down, we can still turn fight uphill against the crowd. We still have some freedom of movement.

And we have God’s promise of help. Remember that the Church was born, grew, and conquered despite utter public contempt for the apostles, followed by savage persecution by the government. Indeed, Our Lord called those “blessed” who persevered under such conditions. So we have here countless opportunities for grace and for pleasing God that our ancestors might not have enjoyed. Though I doubt that we’re really “enjoying” this in the normal sense of that word.

I wanted to share with you one tiny, painless decision I made last week along these lines. No I’m not patting myself very hard on the back for getting this right. As I said, it was pretty easy. But it took some effort and will cost me some inconveniences. Even more, just forcing myself to think about it added to the growing, ominous sense of living in a hostile, embattled society.

Say “No” to Your Local Drug Store Turned Abortion Clinic

I stopped ordering my prescriptions from CVS, and switched to an online pharmacy. I will shun Rite Aid drugstores, even if they’re convenient. Why? Because I wouldn’t shop for dental floss or toilet paper at Planned Parenthood, and now those stores have made themselves abortion clinics, too.

As the most powerful pro-life advocacy group we have, Students for Life of America, reports:

Following the reckless loosening of federal regulations on abortion pills, Walgreens decided to opt in to selling these deadly drugs at their pharmacies … and other major players CVS and Rite-Aid have since followed their lead.

Sign up to join a “Cancel Abortion Cartels” local event during our National Day of Protest on Saturday, March 4th, to demand that our local Walgreens, CVS, and Rite-Aid pharmacies ‘opt out’ of selling dangerous chemical abortion pills.

On March 4th, you can join an existing scheduled protest, or you can host your own “Cancel Abortion Cartels” Protest at your local pharmacy. Simply fill out the form below.

The FDA has allowed pharmacies to ‘opt in’ to selling chemical abortion pills, effectively making local pharmacies the new abortion facilities. Without appropriate testing, data tracking, or health & safety standards, it is impossible to say just how dangerous these pills are to women and babies.

According to the data we do have, we know that chemical abortion pills are 4x riskier than surgical abortion and they are responsible for the deaths of almost 30 women and 5.6 million preborn babies.

Editor’s Note: Since this was published, Walgreen’s stopped selling the abortion pill. It is now enduring a boycott by pro-aborts, and deserves our support and patronage for making the right decision.

These Drugs Stores Betrayed Us During COVID

I was already deeply suspicious of CVS because of my COVID experience, when they blankly refused to fill legitimate doctor’s prescriptions for hydroxochloroquine and Ivermectin. I had to get the latter from an online feed store, and the bottle with a cow and pig’s faces on it still sits in my refrigerator. But you know what I don’t have?

Bizarre RNA floating around in my body, waiting to manufacture spike proteins or undermine my natural immunity. And I don’t have it on my heart that I took the Dead Baby Vaccine despite my conscience. (For my explanation of why it was wrong for anyone not in immediate danger of death if he caught COVID to take those vaccines, see this article.)

CVS and other mainstream pharmacies violated the law, and the sacred bond between doctors and patients, by presuming to dictate our private medical choices — because the Establishment, the media, and the ruling Regime told them to. Now we’re learning how many thousands were apparently injured, killed, rendered sterile, or subjected to miscarriages thanks to that recklessly rushed-through experimental gene therapy.

But CVS won’t get sued for that, any more than it will face lawsuits from the harm done by the abortion pill. Because they’re protected by a corrupt government that still considers abortion a sacred right, despite what the Constitution and the Supreme Court say.

At Least Be the Bone That the Enemy Chokes On

I might not be able to stop the U.S. government from colluding with these drug stores in turning themselves into our friendly, local abortion clinics. I might not be able to save those babies from death, or those mothers from moral and medical consequences. I probably will make no appreciable impact on those companies’ bottom lines. But I can refuse to be part of the problem.

I can avoid the distasteful experience of collaborating with the Enemy, of singing along in German while the Nazis march down the street, and saluting their swastika flag as it passes me by on a float. The price of that? Now I really am conscious of those once-friendly, convenient drugstores as hostile, occupied territory. I have to face one more piece of the ugly truth.

But it sets us free, we are promised. We must cling to our faith in that, and do the right thing if not just out of principle, then out of our own self-respect, and a cussed unwillingness to cooperate with our oppressors.

As I told Eric Metaxas on his show, the Enemy may be swallowing us. We can at least be the bone that sticks in his throat and chokes him.
