When God put missions on James’ heart and Life Outreach began raising funds for missions in Africa, James and I traveled there frequently.

Traveling always made me nervous and, at times, certain areas of South Africa were very unstable and dangerous. But I loved interacting with the precious African people, and I was so thankful we were able to do something to help them.

I remember praying that God would not “call” us to live there and hearing Him reply, “Betty, if I called you to live there, you would have peace, and I would equip you with everything you need.”

The Lord never called us to live in Africa, but I learned a very valuable lesson.

God will never send us somewhere without His peace, provision and protection. Even if He takes us somewhere that is a little scary, we will always have peace in knowing He is with us every step of the way.
